Mike Person is becoming the new Kirk Scrafford. Both Montana guys as well lol.
Person has become a really solid player here.

Wz: holy f**k our OL is horrendous!!!!!!11
LOL. Stat God's.
Right just like people bringing up qb hits from 2018![]()
Nothing wrong with saying overall they played well in pass-pro on Sunday because they did.
Now can they keep it up throughout the yr? Wait and see.
They didn't have to do a ton d/t the clear game here but they were solid esp. for the first game and I'm still unsure how much freedom they (JG + OL) actually have to check out and also change protection assignments given how Kyle took responsibility for a bad play call because it allowed for two free rushers and an easy sack. We've heard that total-control issue in GB and we know in LA Goff is a puppet. Atlanta gave up over 100 QB hits too last year.
I'm starting to wonder if the OL is truly more of a product of lack of control/freedom? Thoughts.

The entire LOS was constantly being moved backwards. Not one player...the entire OL. A quick screen and short passing game minimized the hits, sacks and pressures but it also minimized the offense as a whole too. And they ran 30 times.
But overall, this was a solid first road game plan and they pulled it out. It's something to build on for sure but it won't get easier. We could see a lot of game plans like this.
This but also add lack of depth. See my post above
I totally agree.
We literally have no depth at all. Expect to see many more game plans like this.

I've always liked Person. Seeing him play immediately after Toran really makes you appreciate him that much more.

It's worth thinking about.

TB's front 7 reminded me a lot of ours last year. They had good run defending edge guys 2 beats in the middle, fast LB, with their weakness being edge rushers.

What we saw this week was something that is always going to be a problem for us in this system. We are always going to be small and athletic up the gut due to the amount of pulling guards for stretch runs. Teams that employ a lot of beef up the middle are going to be a struggle.

Maybe our guards should get fully paid All You Can Eat at McDonalds Anytime cards?

Agreed. 92 was their Arik Armstead too. Just give them props. They played their asses off and we had next to nothing on RAC even when we did get receptions. Very disciplined. Bowles with a good game plan. Bucs could be a really good team if not for Winston unless Arians can salvage him somehow.

Ideally, next year he's our top backup with another quality starting guard in his place.

That should go for both average G's and a young high ceiling challenger for Richburg too. Won't happen but we can dream right?

I mean it might? That tends to be the approach of Lynch's front office. Target a couple of positions a year and give them a total makeover. Interior line is definitely on the short list for next year. I could see a free agent and two draft picks split amongst G and C.

They got Dunlap and Atkins this week better line than Tampa lets see how our guys do. Tomlinson needs to step it up Richburg too.

The only reason you draft a high ceiling challenger for Richburg is if you believe his signing was a mistake. Jury is still out on that.

That's probably true unless he can challenge at both C and G too.
