I know some of you just want to continue with the sky is falling narrative but if you look around the league you'll see a a lot of whats going here.

My new favorite deflection.

There are numerous teams who continue to throw resources at their OL annually (prioritize it) via trade, draft, or FA and continue to add to their talent pool.

You could throw this line out at any position any time and it means nothing. There's a shortage of great OL, WR's, FS's, CB's, etc. That doesn't stop teams from trying to improve/add them.

If you could name one team right now with something comparable to a busted up C who hasn't taken a single snap all off season, a converted DL starting at C, an average at best Tomlinson and Person and only 2 depth players in Brunskill (UDFA) and Skule (6th), I'd love to see a more dire situation than ours so we can all feel better about the situation.

Let's just accept it for what it is...our biggest weakness by a country mile and very concerning as it stands this morning esp. if one starter goes down.

Actually, to be fair, they have done some things like McGlinchey, Richburg and Tomlinson, but they haven't done much to improve depth or quality.

You can say that across the league imo

Yep.

They drafted McGlinchey. Made a big FA signing on Richburg, and did multi-year extensions for Staley, Tomlinson, and Person.

That's a meaningful investment in all five starting lineman, which is pretty rare across the NFL.

The depth isn't good and like everyone else I'm terrified of Skule having to play, but I can't think of an Oline in the NFL with good depth. Starter-quality Olineman (and tackles in particular) just simply aren't sitting on the bench.

It's double important for us , we've got to keep Garoppolo upright. We need serious depth and talent which I don't think we've addressed. Richburg is coming off major injury an has barely played, Person has been banged up with lower leg injury (not a finger) like Garnett. Staley is aging , we have rookies as backups. It's really shaky at the moment. Things can change at a moments notice today though

How would you know this? Since you know this, can you name worse depth and injury concerns to your starting C with a coverted DL about to start at C?

Your new favorite word...deflection

It's stating the obvious. There's simply not enough talent at the position overall in the league. Just because someone plays on the line doesn't mean you're adding talent. I agree with you that they should have invested something via the draft at Guard, but who and when? Who should have been the proper investment over who they drafted?

Conner Williams over Pettis? Risner over Deebo? Those are the only ones that come to mind.

This is a fair take. It's not that they haven't done anything. It's that their efforts (draft picks, trades, and FA signings) have yet to yield desired results.

Command to answer your question; the following teams are up a s**t creek without a paddle with one key injury to a starting OL: (obviously the bad teams, so I'll try to include some of the "good" teams that I've followed this offseason

Bills
Jets
Browns
Bengals
Jags
Texans (why do you think they gave up their future for a starting LT)
Broncos
Redskins
Cowboys
Packers
Vikings
Lions
Bears
Falcons
Bucs
Seahawks
Rams
Cards
Broncos
Chargers (starting LT to miss the 1st 6 weeks with blood clots)

Yes sir. LOL.

People just can't accept it and need to come up with all sorts of deflections to help deal with this. We need a Jerry Springer-effect and need to find a team who's way worse off than us to make us feel better about our own situation. Until yesterday's trade, that was probably Houston. Maybe Arizona?

Again, "...there's not enough talent" is a line you can use for anything but teams still try. We have not this year; certainly worse than last year at this time.

Just draft? No trades or FA after 3 years? Yeah, these two would be good talking points and will remain going forward. Risner over Deebo for me...I'll always take a 1,100 snap player a year over a 600-700 snap player UNLESS that player is going to add just as much to the W column (and I love Deebo). In our case, JG's ACL and zero depth probably bumps up the importance of that 1,100 snap OL for me. And Kyle has no issues trading up for guys like Pettis. Deebo might have still been in play. But again, that's just one move over 3 years of numerous moves that could have done. We've already seen half a dozen OL trades over the past 2 days.

Let's be honest unless the 53 man roster is full of pro bowlers people on here will find something to b***h about regardless of circumstances.

One of the worst teams in 2016 and a historically awful defense...by year 3 they should be completely fixed across the board and have excellent depth at each position or the front office should be fired.

4/5 of our starting OL was brought in by this FO. The backup swing T who looked to be pretty solid gets injured in the first preseason game and is out for the year, also brought in by them.

...they completely ignored the position despite all that and bringing in all these other players who either got hurt, didn't play as well as expected or got beat out by someone else the team brought in.

This is getting ridiculous. Very few teams have great depth at OL and the ones that do have holes at other key positions. The Pats have Tom Brady, Scarnecchia. Their depth isn't all pro bowlers either and they've drafted like two or three OLmen in the first round with Brady there does that mean they don't care about protecting Tom? Or maybe they understand how to properly develop the players they bring in?

Let's try that...

So are you guys saying theres nothing wrong with the current oline and you're confident and happy with the current line? To me, its pretty worrisome that we havent added some quality depth especially with jimmy coming off an injury.

Huh? Tomlinson and Coleman were both trades. Richburg, Person were FAs.

We have no idea what they looked into as far as trades this year but like it or not we're returning our starting 5 from last year. We can argue whether or not that should be enough but I can see why the team could feel they can be ok for now.

They prioritized edge rush and defense this offseason as well as WR on offense. Clearly they figure getting a healthy Richburg back with Jimmy at QB with better WR play can help improve the OL as is. Complaining that we don't have depth behind the swing T seems petty and silly.

Literally all of our depth at OL after Coleman got hurt were added this offseason whether draft or FA.

Nobody is saying that imo. The issue is you can't magically take whichever OL you want whether in FA or draft, other teams are involved.

I would've loved Roger Saffold in free agency. I would've loved Dalton Risner in the draft. But Saffold got a chitload of money and we decided Samuel was a must have at WR over Risner.

Richburg getting healthy alone should improve the line. It doesn't mean our line is now great but it's improved from last year just from that. Getting Jimmy back will also help.

This team has dedicated a ton of resources to fixing this line by trade, free agency and the draft. It's almost like some ignore that we used a top 10 pick on a tackle in 2018.

This is becoming a league wide problem and there are contenders right now who are currently scrambling to fix their offensive lines.
