Unless we sign a player, this is your starting 5 and it's been that way all TC:

Staley --- Boone --- Looney --- Martin --- Pears

So far it looks like NC's post.

Edit--when Kilgore comes back...

uhmmmm... I think that Looney should be at RG .. and Martin should be the Center already because that's his future... Why are we messing around with this when we drafted Martin out of USC and graded high as a Center??

did he not take over Kalil at USC, or somethign like that???

The Line up should be.. STALEY - BOONE - MARTIN - LOONEY - PEARS...

Martin is the youngest lineman and will likely play center in the near future, but right now his versatility may help the team more if Kilgore and Looney play center and he plays guard. Kilgore was very well rated last year and nothing suggests that Martin has beaten him out for the center position.

I'm sorry.. but how was Kilgore got rated hight last year.. how many games did he play..

to me, the guy is a life-time back up.. solid, and that's about it... I say let's just set the stone now, and allow Martin to learn under fire..
o-line looks to be pretty rough on the right side ON PAPER. who knows how they gel but i wouldn't mind getting mathis in here. maybe they're waiting it out to see how we look in a real game before throwing money at mathis

Got a good laugh out of this. When we think 2014 49ers OL, we think horrible season right? Boone after the hold out, Iupati in pass pro, Kilgores injury, and probably most of all Jonathan Martin getting blown up. Well, Fletcher Cox thinks it was the best he ever faced, and he played the Cowboys twice last year:

That is just too bizarre. Cowboys OL last year was light years ahead of our (and x100 more stable). Is Cox friends with Anthony Davis on Twitter?

"The toughest line I've ever faced is probably the San Francisco 49ers line from last year," Cox said Thursday during a radio appearance with Rob Ellis and Harry Mayes on 97.5 FM The Fanatic. "They're a big, downhill power team that's just going to grind and grind and grind you."
the line was great at run blocking all of last year

roman and harbs just kept going away from the run for god knows what reason
Any word on Brandon Thomas? He was a 3rd round pick.... He needs to start producing. If not, Baalke shouldn't get a pass for this pick. I think he was brought into play guard.

just started practicing recently after over a year off and he's been getting reps with the 1's along w/ marcus martin at RG

i forsee brandon thomas being the starter at RG, he's more talented than marcus martin imho

I agree. Balke gets MAJOR PASSES and I don't know why? He's made some Very SHODDY picks the last 3 drafts (2012,2013,2014) when the 49ers had a TON of picks and not many have contributed much of anything. To me, thats where the window closed. Balke Failed to get game changers with the schitload of picks the 49ers had in 2013 and 2014. Instead we get the Vance McDonalds and Jimmie Wards of the football world.

Thanks man. They drafted him to start. Dropping a 3rd rounder on a guard is significant. I don't want Martin near the starting o line. Maybe as a backup. I hope Kilgore can make it back at center

Yup. Well, he hit with the on field Aldon Smith which at the time was an unconventional pick. He has gotten to "cute" with the Ward and McDonald picks since then. Also, I think we are all tired of the blown ACL, out for the first two year picks.

He's currently playing with the 2nd team and taking a few with the 1st teams. They said at this is the first time he's put on pads since his college injury. Joe staley said he's starting to show why he was a high draft pick. We'll have a better understanding on how he's coming along on Saturday.

lol, every GM makes picks that don't turn into anything. But your evidence of Ward, McDonald, and Thomas are the only thing that's shoddy. These guys haven't really had a chance to show their worth. I would concede that McDonald hasn't looked great catching the ball, but he also hasn't been put in a situation to succeed. Maybe we should give the young kids a chance and see how this team performs before we start judging Baalke on his drafting ability.

Amazed that people write off players who haven't played a down yet--Thomas. Ward played OK for a young guy and is/was the third or fourth option at S. They also had him working at CB. So in his first two years he was learning two, or three, positions that require very different skill sets...and did OK. Not exactly a bad pick. As for McDonald, he may be a bad choice but was an excellent risk in the 2nd round. I still have hope for all three of these guys but McD would be the most shaky at this point.

But the idea other GMs don't have failed picks is just getting old and shows a lack of understanding or a need to criticize for some reason.
