You sure aren't wrong, but I'll add that I think it's actually worse than that because we've left it too late. I was chuckling while reading the game thread as folks suggested various linemen needed to be benched. Who the hell are we supposed to replace them with? All the guys we didn't draft because they weren't ideal fits?
Gotta start holding Lynch and Kyle accountable.

We haven't drafted a center this decade. I can't remeber the last tackle they drafted. You can't keep rolling out low round draft picks and think that's going to hold up.

They've definitely had their chances at some good ones. Frazier and Humphrey come to mind. It's maddening how neglectful they are at IOL and then get burned in the biggest moments

I'm still pissed that we passed on Grey Zabel. That seemed like a very obvious pick to me.

Edit: And I rarely get into draft stuff, but he really stood out as a useful guy to have on your line.

They had multiple opportunities in a loaded center draft 2yrs ago and passed in favor of continuing to trot out the great Jake Brendel.

For sure. This is a mess of our own making.

Fortunately, we can content ourselves in the knowledge that Brendel is having a career year and everyone else's O-line sucks, so this is perfectly fine.

Gotta win in the trenches on both sides of the ball. This team, with the OL it has continued to roll out, consistently doesn't win in the trenches on offense.

As much as I can't stand the Eagles (and thus hate to say this), they've openly talked about their philosophy of building up and winning in the trenches. They've backed it up by building up both their OL & DL with quality talent, which has resulted in consistently winning in the trenches and is a big reason they've been playing winning football.

"It's OK guys, with me as GM, we can all relax and toast marshmallows, make smores, and tell fun stories." --- He needs to go. Has done nothing.

Saw Brendle just standing there in slow motion while opposing defenders moved right past him.
Not long ago Kyle really valued smart mobile centers. We even signed that FA center from the Giants who ended up on iR, but we had other good experienced centers. Now Brandel is a backup at best with inexperienced guards and McKivitz who's average in pass blocking and below average in the run.
Sad but also expected.
