Connelly, a Tackle many here wanted us to use a high pick on, is borderline unplayable. Awful like last year's chiefs guy everyone seemed to want

I hoped the 49ers could get Josh Simmons this year but the chiefs took him. He played 61 snaps and was basically a little below average. But the biggest issue with him was a knee injury last year.

And I'd have been fine with that but I think the big thing is you can't just throw picks at the problem and fix it. Feels like OL is a crapshoot whether in fa or draft

They have no problem doing that for the DL

I don't disagree! Nor do I disagree that I'd roll a couple OL dices earlier.

But a big part of the problem is that to get him they'd have to have taken him at the 11th pick and that would have been WAY early for him. And if he flamed out they'd never hear the end of it.

I think they might have taken him at 43 but he didn't get there.

We know there were OL they wanted that didn't make it to their pick. Had they been lucky then they'd have spent those picks on the line. A lot of the "just invest on the line" stuff is kind of the "DO SOMETHING!" level of engagement. It's not that they are doing nothing, it's that it just looks like it's not splashy enough. Meanwhile they are carrying a heavier than normal number of OL on the roster, so clearly they are trying.

Pick a name from this last year that they should have taken that they passed on. If it's not a specific name then it's just a general feeling.

Way too early to make a call on either of them.

Asked this in the other thread, Swap Ricky and Renardo for Zach Frazier and Kingsley Suamataia. Do the 9ers win Sunday?

Interesting question ... they would have had to do something else for WR and corner. It's always a dance how a roster is built.

And he gets Mac Jones the slowest least Mobile QB in football to play behind this OLine!

Dude, gets so old listening to you regurgitate this over and over.
Do you have any idea how many picks this regime has thrown at let's say, running backs through the years?
All a few of us are saying, and have said for a few years that you and a "random" poster seem to disagree with is that I personally, would like this front office to put the same energy in the O-line that they put in say the wasted running back picks.
