So, instead of pass rushers getting around Pears to harass our QB in a matter of [ 1 second ], rushers will now have [ 1 1/2 ] seconds to do so...

We're still ****ed

I'm gonna lose my s**t if this f**ker has any significant role on our roster this year. Why is he even here?

LOL, 99% of fans will want to assassinate Pears / Boy Jed / ChiBaalka

Don't worry fellas... I see BABYFACE chewing out every OL on the team each time we fail to gain a first down on 4th and INCHES or even a YARD !!

the minute Boone saw what was going on w/the organization, he knew that he's quickest way out was to start being a jerk.. holdout, ask for so much money, play average, then start talking...

Boone wanted his way out of SF he just felt that if he's gonna finish his career on a mediocre team, or if there's no championship team that would be willing to sign him for the right price, he may as well make his RICHEST now regardless of what team that is.. he just went for the money just incase his career is close to an end..

Sorry, but Boone was reverting to the mindset that ended up with his enjoying several Taser hits while he jumped up and down on the hood of a car in a drunken stupor. Like many alcoholics, he has started feeling nostalgic for when he didn't have to be responsible or work hard. Life will be tough for him after he gets mustered out of the NFL.

The Niners will not have a competent RT this year. It's just possible they pick up someone cut or waived by another team who's barely adequate, but the OL will not be a solid, above average unit for at least another couple of years.

Man, this whole Pears vs. Brown thing has me thinking. Does anyone know how Kelly typically uses his RT? How many runs off RT? How much stretch blocking is required, second level, zone vs. power, etc? We used him mostly straight ahead last year to open up big holes at the LOS and at the second level.
Two groups of coaches refused to move Boone to RT...so I'll accept their decision.

The niners may be looking for OTs next draft, but for now they have Brown Pears, 2 rookies and several OGs with OT experience. TC may be open season to fiND the best mix.

IMO I say play brown at some point...got to see if the big cat can play if not look to FA or the draft in 2017. Pears has zero future here. I also like Cooper not sure if they are working him at RT or OG though?

Both. Looks like they were working him more into RT towards the end of OTA's which makes sense.

I like our offensive line this year if.. and only if....a 7th round draft pick works out at right tackle. I liked him last year, hopefully that translates into a good 2016.

You never know, but the first two things I heard this spring were about Brown--

  • he's out of shape
  • he's moving well, looks good

So if he makes that much improvement before TC...

Still don't know why Thomas isn't getting a look at RT?
Some wonder if pears starts or not. I don't see him making the squad.

Pears, Martin, Devey all got huge PT last yr, granted under an inferior HC, but still got tons of PT. If you are a talent, you look way better than any of those three did. Sure, martin could have been too young...hell he is only 22 now. But when you get your shot, even if the guy next to you on OL stinks, you still can show your stuff. neither of these 3 did, and devey is long gone, just way too late. Martin joins him, and so does pears. When you get your shot and just don't have it....then...next guy up, and we got two OLs later in draft I would rather see make the team. Plus Thomas still has to get his shot...and out of shape or not, Chip is starting Trenton. On the plays he has to catch his breath...all he has to do is stand there...and still nobody can come around him under 3-3.5 seconds.

Adios, farewell; goodbye, senorita... devey, pears and martin , you're on your own.(ok, I took some liberty with an old favorite Mexican tune)

sorry, Doc, but I respectfully disagree. New coaching staff may see some technical corrections that might improve Pears and/or Martin.Even Staley has had games where he struggled til he corrected his technique. So lets see what what the new coach sez--after pads go on--before we make any cuts. And dont't forget Cooper at RT.

Hey., Old niner dude, great to hear from you. No disrespect, just don't agree . Incidentally, if Pears or Martin, somehow one or both have an epiphany, and turn into relieable players, OND, I would be happy for one or both. Right now, for them to make it sure seems like both really need to turn on the burners...ie, they HAVE to get better. That's just another way of saying I, like most others, want the best out there. Right now, I don't care who it is. But both those guys must do better. I would love to get behind them...but need to see results first..

On another note, hope you are doing well. Good to see you posting, amigo.
