Impossible to tell before the coaching hire. If we sign someone the players can get behind, and retain some of our best coaches like Fangio and Tomsula, it will be positive.

If we make the wrong hire, like Rex Ryan, I think a good portion of the players lose interest in the team and start making plans to go elsewhere when possible.

If York makes the wrong hire here hes screwed.

Hmm. Nothing is that simple but If we get the right HC A we are instant contenders.

I think we're still somewhat stacked, roster-wise, so our "window" isn't quite closed yet.

Assuming our next HC is competent, as seem to be all the candidates, it just comes down to the players buying into the coaching. If they buy in, they'll learn the playbook quickly, execute, and win.

I agree though, that's about as simple as it comes; we still need a deep threat, and our players need to get and stay healthy.

We don't need a miracle worker here, only a coach that can help out the play calling on offense and will take advantage of the athletic ability of CK.

This team has the core it needs to play on without a massive rebuild. A healthy Bowman and Willis will be huge. When these guys are playing smash mouth football they are hard to beat. I expect that to continue and for CK to get some coaching help. We lost some games as a direct result of the injuries on defense even though the defense performed at a high level yet again. The offense just needs refinement and a look that puts CK in a position to succeed.
