Tim Drevno leaving to be OL coach at USC after playoffs

Right now I believe he is the assistant OL coach so it's technically an upgrade. I don't know if we will but we should at least look into upgrading from Roman, Solari and Morton. I'm good with all our defensive coaches.

he's co-OL coach with Solari. Not an assistant but they have to OL coaches -- If I recall correctly one of them works with the Tackles and the other with the interior lineman.....Could be wrong though.
Our team, almost the same teams under Nolan and Singletary started winning once Harbaugh and his staff came on board. Whether you know it or not, good coaching and good teachers took, our team to the next level. Guys behind the scenes, like Tim, improved our team; Harbaugh did not do it alone.
Flippant attitudes towards coaches we don't have a lot of insight to, just make some comments seem shallow.

O-line coach, Tim Drevno

I for one, say Thank You and Best of Luck to Coach Tim Drevno
I guess because he'll be THE OL coach instead of AN OL coach, and he'll probably get a big pay raise at USC lol

Now that I think of it you are right on that.

I don't think the O line has been playing as well as it should all season. Look at the draft investment in it. I wish him all the best but I want someone who can raise standards in the line.

I wish Sarkisian had packaged Drevno with the woefully under-appreciated Johnny Morton. Hopefully Morton will go to someplace where his talents can be better utilized, like Navy.

Dline hasn't been getting a pass rush, ergo tomsula has failed as a coach. Let the bum go, just like everyone else wants to do with drevno, Morton, and whichever other position isn't playing well.
As trey wingo would tweet on madden 25... This move is like shifting chairs on the titanic.
They think it's the coaches? As long as we keep our players...I'm good.

Yeah, I'm thinking money is the reason he's leaving. Either that, or the NFL stress is too much for him, lol.
Who can really say how/what the position coaches are doing? I think you have to really be involved in team operations to make a judgment.

I would think that Tomsula might not make a reasonable hc or dc candidate because he doesn't have play calling experience?

I would imagine that quality of life issues are a reason someone might want to go pro->college.

No, let's give all the coaches a pass regardless of how the team are playing at that position. Let's not try to raise our standards.

This could be coming from his agent to get him consideration for a DC gig instead.

But history is on the wrong side for Tomsula's case for a HC. Dennis Allen and Mike Munchak are on the hot seat due to poor records. Munchak went straight from OL coach to HC. Allen did have 1 year DC experience, but mainly was a positional coach.

And the most memorable failures in recent years are Tom Cable - Raiders and Rod Marinelli - Lions (known for going 0-16).
