with man coverage yes for kaep, obviously there wouldnt be a rb in those situations. but making the defense respect the pass will allow us to run more in other sets with 3 or 4 wrs.

the whole point i was getting at is we need to stop running into 8/9 man boxes with no spread in the offense. yet roman refuses

Actually i do agree, i think it's childish and obnoxious, but their motives seem to be working...And i'd be lying if i said i haven't had a little snicker over the reaction..

So am I supposed to go to a Seahawks forum so I can stroke Fair Weather Fans egos? I would rather participate in rational discourse with our rival fans. I'm not here to be a troll. I try to watch ever 49ers game, even though I live in Germany, because the rivalry is so awesome. It makes for many late nights as some games start at 2:30 a.m..

do they need to? we can hate them and the head coach but are they that good back there , they do not have to double anyone?

The one team that hurt them was Indianapolis and they really didn't play a team that really has two good to great WRs. They were so focused on stopping Wayne that Hilton ripped them for 140s yards, it is a possibility. Plus, they will also have to account for Manningham, I would counter their defense with a scheme that features quick slants and getting the ball out quickly, so that pass protection is not an issue. Also, if they want to drop back people to cover the quick slants, (sound effect, lol) whamoo!!!, Gore can get them running up the middle, or we can throw the bomb to Davis. The best medicine for the 49ers, if I was Kaepernick and the rest of the 9ers, is not to get intimidated. From my perspective, I wouldn't look at them as playing a team with only one loss, I would stress if I were the 49ers of looking at myself, rather than the seahawks. I believe if the 49ers can correct their internal issues/misques/mistakes/penalties and playing with a style that they are not accustomed to, and really looking at their selves in terms of their capabilities and what they can bring to the table, they certainly can beat the seahawks. If I was the 49ers coach, this would be the game that I would be doing film study very intensively this week, with a bunch of over nighters, and many a pot of coffee. That's the one thing with Walsh that I missed, I remembered always seeing Walsh on the side lines televised, with his bloodshot eyes and the players just completely dominating their opponents, because Walsh had already won the battle before the battle was even fought. GO 49ERS!!!

This game is not as important as we all thought it would be earlier in the season. In reality all this game means from a Niners stand point is if we beat Seattle we tie up the season series and feel good knowing were able to beat them. If we beat Seattle it pretty much locks us into the playoffs i don't see us losing to Tampa Atlanta or Arizona, This game is all for pride a loss here would not destroy either team. I want the Niners to win just so we know we can beat these guys. And most likely we will see them in Seattle next month. And a win clinches the NFC West for Seattle the Niners have to much pride to let that happen on our field.

I agree this game has lost some of it's luster regarding the division, but i do think it's a huge statement game for both teams, both sides will be out for blood. However i have to disagree with you about it not meaning much for SF. IMO this is a must win, because a loss will not only clinch the division for the Hawks, it's seriously jeapordizes your wild card position with a strong CAR, NO and AZ still in the hunt.

True Niners cant afford a loss to any team at this point if they win out there guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. If they lose a game then will have to see what the teams in the hunt do. It's not the big match up both teams were expecting earlier in the year but it should still be a good game and both teams will want the win pretty bad.

The Niners can absolutely afford to lose this game. Going 2-2 will be just fine.
