I don't think James has regressed. He's been running mostly base set power runs. Between the tackles stuff. James will benefit far more from the full playbook with read options and spread plays. I wouldn't get too down on LMJ because we used a speed back in power run sets a lot of the preseason.

BJ Daniels- locked up third spot- same through to Jacobs twice in pre season for TD's. For the zoners that think he did not play well you are craxy
Patton- Will make the fans happy that a drafted WR is finally producing
Kendall Hunter
Dixon- Is it just me or is he getting better every year??
Hawkins- Should make team as a KR/PR
Jacobs- will be cut and hopefully make PS
Cam Johnson- if he is cut, he will note doubt make a nfl roster. I think he sticks as OLB special teams player

Losers
LMJ- will start season on PUP list- he appears to have regressed. I love LMJ, but his play has been alsmost afraid.
Gray- Will get cut and make PS
Baldwin- did not take advantage of his snaps like Patton
Collie- I was WRONG, I though he would make the squad he is gone
Chad Hall- Rudy of camp will be cut and not be back

i am pretty sure james isnt eligible for the pup list---and for a little back how come he doesnt look all that quick?

WINNERS:
Patton - He's really impressive
Skuta, Moody played well
Cam - his best game, hard to say if the light went on or who he was up against
Hawkins - seems to have that "it" factor
Lemoniere - he's the Flash from the DC comic books

Dahl played very well
Dixon was solid

LOSERS:
Collie - not enough to stick around
LMJ - I don't know if it's the vanilla preseason games or what but he doesn't seem to have that spark like last season
We are in trouble if more than one OLine goes down based on the backups performance.

Have to admit I thought Collie would be strong but it looks like he's outta gas finally, was pulling for him, good cat.
Also would like to see Hawkins on kicks if he can keep his head straight.
LMJ is a curious thing right now.

I think that Dahl, Reid, and Spillman have looked good enough that the team really needs to look at cutting Whitner. He deserves it based on his terible play from last year, but with Goldson leaving the thought was the position was too weak. At this point, a Dahl/Reid starting duo looks a lot better in coverage than anything with Whitner in it.

Here's hoping for a surprise cut!

your last bullet point was very good . Maybe i am being a homer but you wonder if the guys who played well for us will continue that trend on another team that is not as good as we are, if that makes sense. i just think the culture and climate not to mention the vet players the niners have along with coaches make alot of players over achieve when they may be just another player on another team
