The running attack is so dominant it opens up the passing game. With Crabtree out who will come up with the tough third down catch? Crabs has great hands. I think McDonald will add a Gronkowski-Hernandez type receiver to the offense, he played all over in college. Jenkins, Lockette and Williams will sort themselves out in training camp. I followed Manningham throughout his Giants career, he always missed significant time with injuries.

I'll guess Jenkins wins the starting split end position, with Lockette as his backup.
Williams is the 3rd reciever/slot, Manningham backs him up and could take over when ready
If Jenkins struggles Manningham could also take over at SE
Boldin to flanker as the "go to" guy, Patton backs him up
Crabs back for the playoffs

Lockette too??? damn . I heard about Hall , didn't read about Lockette burning him. Well I guess if Jenkins wants to impress, he knows who to line up against now. so the question is ... is Cully that bad or Lockette starting to emerge . Hope it s just a case of a veteran not giving 100 %, and the new guys really trying too hard to impress.
It's OTAs. I think PJ Fleck looked good too at this point in the season. Don't read too much into that.

Noone has mentioned much about this guy. But, I am curious. Will Marlon Moore make it ? He seems like a nice kid and he has speed.

This group has TONS of talent and even more concerns. We know who the starters will be, but the order after that is debatable. I think this will be my favorite group to watch for camp battles.
Roster spots: 5-6
Locks: Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin, Mario Manningham (PUP)
Competition: Kyle Williams, A.J. Jenkins, Quinton Patton, Ricardo Lockette,
Long shots: Marlon Moore, Chad Hall, Joe Hastings, Chuck Jacobs
Outlook: Many of you will argue that Kyle Williams or A.J. or Patton should be locks, but I can see situations where any one of them gets cut. Harbaugh has proven that he makes decisions in the best interest of the team so draft position, past achievements or perceived loyalty don't earn roster spots. That's great for the team and puts more pressure on these guys to perform. Crabs and Boldin will most likely start and Manningham looks to be headed to the PUP off the bat. That leaves 3-4 spots. Williams has the inside track because he has the most experience and he is also a punt returner. Jenkins, Patton, and Lockette all have tremendous potential and each has earned praise from Harbaugh. I have a feeling that the battle between these three will last through the preseason. Unless I am mistaken, the PUP is for the first six weeks of the season. The team will probably keep all six (Crabs, Boldin, Williams, Jenkins, Patton, and Lockette) until Manningham is healthy or until one of them falls far enough behind the others. The third group of guys would need a HUGE camp or a string of injuries to have a shot. Moore is probably the best of the bunch, but they seem to all have a common denominator. They have great work ethics, so the top guys will be pushed even harder.
Boldin
A.J
Patton
Locket
Williams
In that order. Marlon Moore stays if we keep 6 WR's.

Agreed. I currently have Marlon Moore on my projected 53 primarily b/c he is a deep threat, has NFL experience and can play gunner and return punts as well. We signed him early too so perhaps Baalke saw something in this kid.

Boldin, AJ, Patton, locket, kyle, looks like a pretty imposing set or receivers. With any luck, at least 3 will still be healthy by end of season. But I really like the group.

have no clue what any of these guys can do. Boldin is solid but the rest are complete unknowns.Originally posted by pasodoc9er:Boldin, AJ, Patton, locket, kyle, looks like a pretty imposing set or receivers.
