I'm not sure how much money he'll be asking for, but if it's reasonable, I think that he could be another gem.. He's yet to become the player they projected him to be, but he's still got lots of years ahead of him.. Maybe a change of location would feed him well..

Right. Why are we doing this? He's a wide body that gets pressure for us. Let's leave him in now and then, let him rush from the A gaps. Whatever works.

Absolutely agree. You need an achor in passing situations anyways to maintain the middle. With a guy like Dorsey you can almost guarentee the QB wont be able to scramble out of the rush through the middle. He definitely has shown the ability to beat the one on one so he would be beneficial from a numbers perspective. Im fine with it for the time being cause i want him to remain fresh. We may have to cut dobbs or TJE when wright, dial, carradine come back. Carradine and dial will be viewed as direct rreplacements but it wont be a straight snap swap. Dorsey will get some of those snaps too so will he see him taking the role your talking about eventually I feel.

They've got him listed as the 6'th best DT in the league despite having about half the snaps of the players in front of him. He's been beasting.

Wow. Look at that run rating. Why is his rush rating so average? He has 2 sacks/90 snaps. That's pretty good.

Dorsey has really looked terrific since taking over for Ian Williams. I really think NT is his best fit in the NFL, now I'm wondering if he has or will displaced Williams as the starting NT long term for the Niners. It's hard for me to imagine Ian coming back next season and taking the NT spot back. Thoughts?

Agree, Dorsey has been great. I hated seeing Ian go down with an injury, but it did open the door for Dorsey. Dorsey is more talented and should have been the starter all along. Ian's salary is very reasonably, and he's a good young player, so I expect him back

Thats why we need Dial, 350lb NT, would work well for us.

For about 4 or 5 downs every series otherwise he'll have a stroke.

has anyone seen any updates at all on Dorsey's injury? Looked like they wrapped up the hammy and he was standing on the sideline, would love some confirmation of what's going on though, absolutely nothing reported as far as I can tell.
