The reasons we'd rather play you on the road VS the Hags at home are...

For one, you guys got outplayed by the Hags today. The Hags had no problem driving the ball on you in the first half. Two stupid decisions in the first half, one by Carroll to go for it and the other by Wilson not throwing it away to end the half, stalled two scoring drives on your door step. Not too mention, the fumble by Skittles; but turnovers happen. Point being, the score at half of 20-0 wasn't indicative of a dominating performance. And we could see in the second half, that when the Hags stopped shooting themselves in the foot on offense, the points eventually came easily.

Secondly, teams built like us give us more issues than teams built like you. Tough and physical defenses like the Rams, Giants, Hags, and Vikings were the ones we struggled with this year while we had no problem handling big offenses with porous defenses (NO, NE, GB x2, DET). So based off our history, and our ability to win on the road, I'd rather see us face a team we are built to beat.

Thirdly, I want no part in playing a team that just overcame a 20 point fourth quarter deficit to win against the one seed on the road. Not too mention, a team and divisional opponent that always plays us tough. On the flip side, I want every bit of a team who gave up a 20 point fourth quarter lead at home to an underdog only to get bailed out by a 50 yard FG in the final seconds. That's sneaking into the next round quietly with your tail between your legs as opposed to busting through the door with an emotional comeback victory.

Fourth, we are a better team than the Hags and can actually play defense on the road. The Hags are a much more physically imposing unit at home than on the road. We're the toughest and most complete team left in the playoffs. We will expose your weaknesses like Seattle did, but not shoot ourselves in the foot because we've been there before. At the same time, your receivers will get some of theirs, but mostly because your team will be playing catch-up and unable to run against our front, which is head and shoulders better than Seattle's.

Enjoy your win today, because it's the last one you'll get this year.

The silence in their dome when Seattle went on their run was a good demonstration of this. They were plenty loud when the Falcons where running up a 20 pt lead.
I keep trying to hear analysis on the game and what they expect. They always briefly graze over the matchup and then go into detail about the patriots, baltimore, etc. East Coast bias has become sooooo ridiculous these days. Don't they realize the Niners probably still have one of the largest fanbases?

Dude this post is GOLD. I call it spot on!

I do not think this is going to be a close game at all. Atlanta played 1 good team all year; Denver. And they beat them early in the season. Look at that schedule, they struggled hard against teams that they should have blown out. Their defense is terrible. They do get turnovers, but they still get torn to pieces by the pass and run. If Kaepernick avoids a pick 6 like the start of the last game, and then explodes like he did, there is no question this game will be a blow out. I do not think it's going to be close. Remember 2010 with the Packers in the Georgia Dome? That's what I am expecting...Matt Ryan has not played a defense as hard hitting as this. He will get rushed, he will get beat up, and no matter how many times Roddy White pushes off on these guys, they are going to punish him. You already seen this team beat all these super offenses that have bad defenses (NE, NO, GB twice, DET) Atlanta shouldn't be a problem at all. If this team beat Brees, Brady, and Rodgers I am not scared of Ryan, who is not even a top 10 quarterback.

I know. Billick said that win proved they are the team to beat in the NFC. Really? They were down and out and managed to pull it off.

Just wait until after Monday, the media will be riding Atlanta.

It took Matt Ryan five years to win a playoff game (after choking most of them away, and almost choking today's game away), but since his nickname is 'Matty Ice', he's gonna lead the Falcons to the Superbowl.

clayton already picked the falcons
Almost everything Eric Davis said on NFL AM (on NFLN) a month back is coming into fruition. -Davis predicted we'd host/beat the Packers, and travel to Atlanta to face a 'beat-up' Falcons crew who would barely scraped by Seattle, and advance to the Superbowl.

Atlanta has a lot going against them in this game than people wanna admit; they're riding (high) off of not only a game they should have lost, but a game not even they probably believe they even won. The demeanor in the post-game locker-room, and the expression of the coach (Mike Smith) was almost dim, and uninspiring; this team seems like they played just to please the media, and not themselves. -Their leadership is flawed to the core.

The attitude/energy on the other side with the 49ers seems more professional, more focused, these guys seem to respect the situation a lot more, and aren't sticking around to enjoy anything until they get what they want, a trophy.

Nothing like a good old beatdown, with FACTS.

Also, it will be easy for the Falcons to take a "mission accomplished" mentality; having FINALLY won a playoff game. Don't be surprised if they come out completely fact. Perfect trap game for them.

I don't think the Falcons can score 21 on the Niners defense and the Niners offense just dropped 45 on the Packers defense which is rated a lot higher than the Falcons. This is just part of the reason why I was so happy to see the Falcons knock off the Seahawks today.
