what is the cap hit if we sign alex and then trade him? I know if we sign him it is like 8 million

please no derail just a simple question!
he is under contract for 3 years
Niners don't have the cap room to pick up Smith's 2nd year.
im just curious if you trade him, if the other team takes the cap hit.

not it they want to resign Goldson.
kap*
They pick up salary... Question is do we have an accelerated signing bonus situation??? Either way the 7.5 mil we save if we trade him is the number we would need to franchise Goldson!!!!
my question is , does trading him eliminate the cap it...
Just wait for AB to log on, he'll be sure to answer any questions.

Alex is due a $1 Million roster bonus in March, if we can get him to push it back to allow him to seek a trade than we will only owe him $1M of his base salary, and save $8.75 Million.

There is no signing bonus to be as dead money, he didn't receive one, just a 4M roster bonus when he signed the contract,

Can we theoretically hold on to him, then trade him, freeing the cap money?
^^^^^^ i think that is exactly what he is saying . but alex has to agree (why would he?)

why would alex bend over backwards to get traded to a team he might not want to play for
