Jim Harbaugh can dance around the issue all he wants, but the fact is Alex Smith is now our backup QB. The only question now is "Who's got a better backup than us!!!?"

Without a doubt. Can't think of any other backup who has completed 70% of passes with a 100+QB rating at any point in their career.

He's at least a very high end backup. He could start on a few teams in the league. And probably will somewhere next year.
