It's going to be easy to pick this year I believe as there are too many teams with rookie QB's leading the way with unestablished offenses and/or defenses. I believe "NFL parity" takes a backseat this year from season's past. Most teams from last year's playoffs will again advance this year. Alex Smith has no choice to progress over least season's success. If he regresses that will be it and CK will be primed to take over. But I don't believe this will happen with Harbaugh around. And because Alex Smith will improve over last season so will the team overall, that means only one thing..advancement to the Super Bowl for the first time in 18 years. Will the 49ers win the Super Bowl? We'll see. AFC: 1. Baltimore: 13-3 (Flacco & Co. turn a corner on offense) 2. Houston: 12-4 (Consensus SB favorites heading into the season) 3. Denver: 12-4 (Peyton's calming effect) 4. New England: 11-5 (Defense will again be achille's heal) 5. Buffalo: 10-6 (Improved health = improved team) 6. Cincinnati: 9-7 (could have easily been Pittsburgh, KC, or Jax) Wildcard: Denver over Cincinnati Buffalo over New England Divisionals: Baltimore over Buffalo Houston over Denver AFC championship: Houston over Baltimore NFC: 1. San Francisco: 13-3 (We'll get our feet wet early with a steal @ GB in the opener) 2. Green Bay: 13-3 (Defense makes strides) 3. New York Giants: 12-4 (Eli steps it up during the reg. season) 4. Atlanta: 11-5 (Can they get a running game going?) 5. New Orleans: 10-6 (Brees will be angry) 6. Seattle: 9-7 (The upstarts will surprise. I predict they'll only lose 1 game at home) Wildcards: New York over Seattle New Orleans over Atlanta Divisionals: San Francisco over New Orleans Green Bay over New York NFC Championship: San Francisco over Green Bay SuperBowl: The 49ers defense will have their hands full with a healthy Schaub, Foster, and AJ but they'll counter it with a superb "bend but don't break" philosophy. Alex Smith and his offense will have matured into a well oiled machine by 2/3/13 and he will orchestrate a beauty with 275yds passing and 2 tds. It's all going to come down to one of the greatest 4th down stands in NFL history: The score: 49ers 24, Texans 20 The situation: 21 seconds left in the game, with the Texans on the 9ers 3 yard line, 4th down and goal... The outcome: It's a pass play with AJ and the receivers flanked to Schaub's left and Foster and Tate in split back! Aldon Smith comes screaming off the LT in a bee line for Schaub...Schaub rolls right with Foster heading towards the right sideline...Schaub lobs a screen to Foster...there's no one matching up with Foster..no wait there's Willis! Foster has time to make Willis miss, it's 1 on 1 at the 3 yd line! No hesitation with Willis as he guesses right and torpedos Foster into the turf! Game over, 9ers win their 6th Lombardi!!

Niners should hopefully be a #2 or even #1 seed & ergo get a 1st rd BYE....even if seacocks made it in as a wildcard i don't see them getting past the 1st round (karma if they had to go to NO and the aints get payback for marshawn lynch's "beastmode" in 2010)

bring it on if we should host the seahags in the divisional round.....i want JH to put an epic beatdown on PC like he did with Stanford to USC in 2009

Did you really say "Can Atlanta get a running game going?"

Atlanta has always had a solid running game behind Turner/Snelling.

Also, why is everyone so high on the Chiefs this year?
