I think this front seven has the chance to be one of the greatests if not the greatest of all time. If only for a season.

Seems like this year it's 1s vs 1s, which is what I've been wanting all along. Don't give false hope to the offense going against backups. I see the D is dominating. Our offense will be forced to improve. Can't wait to shut down the Pack and see #12 on the ground for a majority of the day.
They've been having the 1's go versus the 2's quite a bit this year, if not the majority of the time.

It may have a longer shelf life than one season. J Smith is the only guy close to retirement and he still has a number of years left. Now they are improving the defensive backfield, both keeping good players and bringing in more good players like Cox. A better backfield will help the pass rush, and vice versa. Key will be avoiding injuries and no one becoming a hero! Willis sets the tone here and that is a very good thing.

Defense keeps dominating not good for our offense. The guys need to start making some plays.
it will only make our offense better though
What if it makes our defense worse??

Personally, I feel offense (and the defense) should start training camp against the third stringers then graduate to the 2nd and finally the number 1 defense. The best learning method for any exercise begins with only some resistance and complexity. The student first learns basic fundamentals of form and technique while gaining confidence and muscle memory of what the proper result should feel like. The Niners' offense, like all students, need to know how a play, successfully run, should "feel." They should begin this against the less disruptive defensive squads before graduating to the number ones. In this way, IMO, the 11 players would be better able to hold a play together when it doesn't go exactly as drawn up.
