How would anyone know the numbers. I don't think even the coaches have a certain number for each guy.

38 snaps a game with either 2 TE's or a TE and a FB? Another 7 with a 3rd TE? I don't think we will run as many "heavy" formations as last year. We've got the makeup on offense to be a little more finesse and a little less power. I'd give Jenkins about 10 snaps a game taking those snaps away from Walker, Miller, and maybe Vernon (he'll need a break every now and then right?).

The numbers are not touches... they are plays that certain players are on the field. i.e. if Vernon is on the field and we run the ball or take a sack, that counts as one of his 60 snaps.

Best players will get the majority of the snaps. Others will play roles.

3rd TE/extra o-linemen/Sopoaga - 7
Total: 300
Summary: We'll probably have a halfback in on every play. VD will get a couple plays off. Crabtree and Moss will be in the majority of the time. Delanie will be in on 1/2 of the snaps, while Manningham and Miller get in on 1/3 of the snaps. Jenkins needs to see playing time and likely takes snaps away from Manningham.

Of course they don't. Nor do they know what the 53 man roster will look like. Doesn't mean us fans can't speculate/make our guesses.
And of course it's heavily subject to change based on who the opponent is and what the game situation dictates, but it's just a general overall view of how much PT you think guys will get.

Ya you're probably right about that we'll likely run fewer heavy formation.

Yea I wanted to give Manningham more snaps, but took some away and gave it to Jenkins. If you combine their snaps it comes to 35 total for the 3rd WR, which is a little over 50% of the time. I thought that was reasonable.
I might have given Walker and Miller too many snaps. It really all depends if we run the same type of sets as last year, or we open it up with more 3-wide, maybe even 4-wide formations. I can't wait to find out!
