They now have different types of receivers on the team so that the coaches can pick and choose whom to use for better match ups against teams each week. That's really the whole purpose of getting these guys. So you really can't say definitively 1 guy is the #1. It can change each week depends on the defensive personnel that they will face.

That was a 3 man rush BTW. How stupid was that defense. The safety screwed up.

Moss will be the guy that stretches the field, no brainer. Gotta respect the name, gotta respect the speed. He gonna command double coverage. Just his presence on the field will make it easier for everyone else to get open

Crabtree will be playing opposite of Moss, commmanding the attention of the number 2 CB and will be lining in the slot on 3 reciever sets. Outside if we go into a spread. Alot ppl say Crab's needs to be a flanker.

Manningham will also be at the slot on 3 reciever sets on some plays where Crab will be on the outside. I wouldnt be too surpised to see us go into the spread couple times a game since we have all this fire power with Ham at slot.

A.J Jenkins- Still unknown but he runs routes across the field but has the abilty to stretch the field. Screens

KW- Give him 10 yrd comeback routes, saw how he gashed the Rams, for a 56 yd TD. Fast guy, and gettin stronger. "Best stiff arm i've ever seen"(Harbaugh voice)

Ginn- Fly sweeps and streaks

Perhaps, but realize though that Revis is often 1 on 1 without safety help. That's part of being on "Revis Island".

He was beaten fair and square. Impressive play.

If Moss 2012 is equal to 2009, he will be awesome.

Haha, Crabs compared himself as a younger version of Moss! If he means that they are both WR's then I would agree. The quote is from the article out of Scouts.com on the front page of the zone.

With Manningham and Williams a bit slower.

Crabtree needs to become the possession receiver his skills indicate--great hands, nimble & quick cuts. In college he was consistently playing inside his defender, in the NFL he seems to let the defender inside. Hope that changes with the additions!

I prefer quickness to speed, however, and love the addition of quickness as well. Most of these guys can make sudden, separating moves.

Manningham will be the 3rd receiver on the depth chart with either Moss or Crabtree getting the #1 spot. Moss and Mannningham will be setting up wide most of the time mainly being used as our deep threats, but I also believe Manningham has a little more versatility to be used in other places. Crabtree's going to be our primary slot guy when we go into formations with 3 WRs, Manningham being the flanker and Moss getting iso. The thing that a lot of people have been talking about is AJ Jenkins's ability to play the X, Y, or Z positions. I think it's this versatility among other things that made him our 1st round pick. We can easily sub and plug him in anywhere on the field, which should give him a good amount of playing time even if he does become the 4th WR on the roster.

Hope they don't get too tricky with the substitutions! That could really destroy the continuity of the offense. Somehow I think Harbaugh and Roman will know that!

Looking at last season. The Niners were awful in the Red Zone, 3rd down and lack of big plays.

They sign Moss... Even if he has lost a step, he is one of the biggest Red Zone threats.

They sign Manningham... Troubles on 3rd down were because guys couldn't get open. Manningham is a great possession guy. His presence will allow Crabs to get open more as well.

They draft Jenkins... A speed guy. Some have compared him if potential is reached to a Mike Wallace type. He could be a big play threat.

Ginn will be a return guy and in 5 WR sets. He will get sweeps and WR screens... Williams if he is on the team will be used in almost the same capacity as Ginn. He won't return and will get sweeps, screens, comebacks, quick slants.

Vernon Davis will just beast it up with the WR corps. He will block a decent amount, but you need to keep an eye on him. He won't be the #1 target this year by opposing defenses. if he is, expect the WR's to be fantastic.

I'm sorry, but I seriously think people are grossly and unbelievably minimizing A. J. for Moss and Crabs. He will start - granted, he'll be used as the X, Y, and Z because he's our most versatile WR - but he will be on the field for every offensive snap. Baakle and JH didn't draft this kid in the 1st round, with what he brings to the team, to be a sub for, or complimentary to, anyone. A. J. the 4th WR on the roster? Give me a break!! Williams ahead of A. J.?!?! Good lord!!! And I'm not sold on Moss at all. Even if he makes the team he's not gonna be anything better than a package-type and decoy - certainly not our primary guy or a starter. His primary WR days are over. Mark my word, A. J. will be our go-to primary WR. If it were no the case we would have drafted a WR in the 3rd or later. As for Crabs, well, I'm not a fan, period. But I think he'll be the other starter, but I hope Manningham beats him out. Hell, I hope we trade his ass ASAP, but I know that won't happen. Crabs is gonna be given every opportunity to shine. But if Crabs don't have that breakout year this season that people have been waiting on this will be his last year in a 49ers uniform.

Each receiver will draw defenders from the others.

You can only double team so many guys. If we can open up a game or two w/a bomb to Moss every D we play will be focused on that.

Then VD gets a couple of bombs. Then the middle of the field opens up for slants and crossing routes. AJ can take it to the house. Crabs can shake & bake,

Play action passes galore. Ginn used sparingly but very well.

Then the running game opens up and kicks their teeth in. We'll be real tough to game plan. I still have RZone concerns BUT not nearly as many. Proof is on the field.

Me too. But I don't think JH & Co. will need to be that tricky this season. We have the weapons now that we can pretty much play teams straight up and win.
