Ginn
Cox
Jenkins - He'll at best be our #3 this season so he will have plenty of time to act as a KR guy
Hunter
James - once he improves his hands he leapfrogs Hunter as we try and phase hunter completely out of ST
Williams - 5 people would need to get hurt before we put him on the field again lol

The moves made this past weekend makes me wonder if Ginn is even going to make the roster. He had the chance to prove himself as a receiver this season and couldn't do it. He is, once and for all, solely a return specialist. I believe James will be his replacement either this season or next. Kyle Williams is a hated man on this board but he offers more as a receiver than Ginn and might survive for that reason.

Ginn (For Now)
James (Soon)
Cox (He is an unknown but has been dynamic)
Hunter (At best he is steady as a returner)
Williams (Emergency only)

Not that #3 returner is really worth an argument, but I don't see Jenkins returning kicks at all.

He has more than enough else to be focusing on to add returns to his plate. He returned 5 kicks last year and 0 the year before, so I wouldn't exactly feel comfortable with him handling kicks either.

But most of all, I don't think he'd be particularly good at returns at the nfl level. He's pretty fast and agile, but making people miss isn't his strongest suit. He's gotten his big gains partially through speed, but also through disciplined route running and just breaking open, not through split-second maneuvers to weave through defenders or breaking tackles.
If they see Hunter as Gore's eventual replacement as the primary ball-carrier, they'll take Hunter off of returns altogether.

If Williams makes the team, he will be at least the #3 returner.

Not sold on Cox for returns (or the roster even), but he could be anywhere from #2 to emergency fill-in.

If any of the return able UDFA's make the roster it'll likely be because they're in the mix at returns.

I expect James to be looked at hard for returns. Probably #2 guy, possibly even #1, which would get Ginn cut. I expect he'll eventually at least see some action returning punts, but think he'll be restricted to time at kick returns for now.

I think we'll enter the season with Ginn handling punts and kicks with James at the 2nd KR spot and Cox seeing some practice time. I also expect Ginn to handle punts, but with Cox ahead of James (for now, and assuming Cox makes the roster). I still like Williams, but expect he won't make the team the way our roster sits, and I think we pull Hunter off all but being a reserve at KR and not at all at PR.

Jenkins has a modest 20 yard per return average on kickoffs. Not great but we'll never know until we try, as the 3rd or 4th KR he'll almost never see the field in that capacity anyway

PR chart IMHO should look like this

Ginn
Cox
James
Jenkins
Williams

Been tweeted that James will not handle punt duties because of fumble issues

I agree, Ginn may not make the final 53. James can do punts with cox as backup and Jenkins and Hunter can do KR. Ginn brings nothing to the offense except for an occasional reverse.
