Are you talking about the option pitch play where Cowboys strung it out, and as soon as CK pitched it to LMJ he was up against the sideline with a couple defenders right there....or when they tried a slow-developing sweep that again was blown up....or the zero kick returns that he had? I'd ask if you're also talking about the swing pass where they made a LB cover and pursue, but they tried that play with Miller.

Mediocre and small. Track speed isn't the only thing that makes a legit NFL RB.
Ask Mcfadden and Jones Drew with their 28 yards combined ass game....against the Jets..

I know, what has Jones Drew ever done in this league? And you know the Jets were a Top 5 team against the rush last year, right?

LMJ doesn't seem as fast as he was in college.

No, no, no.
Think bigger: trade him.

Being as impartial as I can I really can't see LMJ being on team after this season. There just isn't a viable reason for him to be on the 53, let alone the active 46. He's the back-up PR/KR (this is his saving grace IMO), 3rd string and potentially 4th string RB when/if Lattimore is activated later this season (who do we cut/trade to bring him on to the 53? Logical choice is LMJ, maybe Brandon Lloyd or the 6th WR whoever it is).
That is assuming we trade or cut him in season, going into the off season I would rather we just draft a late round RB and re-sign Hunter over keeping LMJ. Then thinking outside the box, we have Millard waiting to fill some sort of a role in the backfield as a H-Back of sorts.
While the objective of the 2012 draft was a good one it is obvious that we whiffed on the picks and at the same time, our offense isn't (and essentially was) exactly hurting for a player we thought LMJ was. Even if it is our offensive game plan that is hampering LMJ's effectiveness I'm ready to move on from him.

I think James gets cut when Lattimore gets back. If Hunter or Lattimore were healthy he would have been gone. We can save like 800k and only have 240k or so in dead money for next year by cutting him after this season so no way he's around next year. Seems like every time he touches the ball he loses yardage.

Lots of hate for LMJ in here, not sure what he has done to warrant that.
All game I saw Hyde and Gore getting well designed running plays between or around tackles, most had great blocking as well.
Can't recall seeing a "normal" play LMJ ran, all I can remember was him getting the ball dumped on him with 2-3 guys in front.
Its sad most people on here look at his stats and claim he is a bust, if he was on the team like the Saints we would have posters on here complaining about how we wiffed on a draft pick.
The guy is not a bust, he just hasn't gotten the right chance.

Don't bother. As we all know, one game, the first game at that, tells the story of the entire season. Can we just crown Seattle now?

This is the main issue. Poor, poor, play calling. Can they use him on a normal running play? He was used inside at Oregon. And if he goes down by tripping on a blade of grass as many like to say, then it will be there for all the world to see.

I mostly agree with this. I'm not convinced I've seen enough plays designed to use his skill set. That halfback option yesterday would suit James well it's just Dallas played it well. I'd love to see James used in wheel routes, sweeps, and other plays that would take advantage of his speed and quickness.
