Curious what you think the upside is on Aldon, and how he compares to JPP (or if it's too early to tell)? My Giants' friends from back home think he's already the best defensive player in the league (or will be soon). Their counter argument to Aldon is that he was just a 3rd down specialist this season whereas Pierre-Paul plays on all downs. We're all homers on this one, them and us.

Aldon doesn't need to do backflips. His arms touch the ground the same time his feet do. In fact, one of his sacks was while he was running on his hands. It just looked like he was on his feet.

Well Joe, you may be the first person to realize he was joking. Everyone else...

And the answer is its too early to tell. JPP is developing into a very good player and I think Aldon will also. But the only real fact I know is, I will have fun watch Aldon develop.

Apples and Oranges. They play different positions and comparisons are moot.

Both are very good with incredible potential.

Some people can be objective. There was one Giants fan telling others that Justin Smith is better than JPP. They debated him but he stood his ground.

I care about the truth and nothing else. We've all got a little homer in us, but doesn't mean we can't compare greats.

Just because you're obviously angry (all caps), I'll make you feel a little better.

But throwing down a windmill dunk isn't even the most remarkable thing Ikpe's seen his best friend do. The top spot goes to Aldon Smith's standing back flip.

"Who do you know that's 6-foot-5 that can do a standing back flip?" Ikpe said. "That's more impressive than any sack he's ever gotten."

jpp has 21.5 sacks in 36 career games whereas Aldon has 16 sacks in 18 career games. just to be fair though, I do hope people realize Aldon did play more snaps than people think (he played in our nickel D, which was on the field for far more than just 3rd downs) and jpp played fewer snaps than people think. Though jpp still did play more snaps, it's closer than many think.
