in his column yesterday addressing the peyton manning situation, he said a "voice I trust" said the niners almost acquired ben reothelisberger a few years ago...do you believe this has any truth?

I believe a lot of GMs have conversations about a lot of things that never happen.

We only know about 10% of what is discussed.

back when Sing was coach? Yeah it's probably true after the raper thing, but I highly doubt Pitt was going to actually trade him to us.

I can. Before we brought in Brooks he had supposedly spit in or punched a woman in the face or something. Sing also wanted to bring in Mike Vick. He turned VD around. I don't see why he wouldn't have thought he could reform Big Ben and his fondling/raping ways.

Yeah I know. I doubt they would've traded him but I wouldn't be surprised if Sing brought it up.
