2012 draft cap figures

I was actually wondering this. Thx again AB, you are the man when it comes down to these figures. So technically, how much will this leave us with projected salary cap room counting these signings?

After factoring in goldson's likely franchise tag, we would have 25M to spend. Then I factored in some re-signings. So for every signing you make, take off 390,000 since that player will replace a salary of 390,000.

Also doesnt include spencer's release when it happens.

do we 40 mill in cap space or 30? i keep hearing different things

So in reality, after we sign Alex we're going to have roughly 15-19 mil to spend. After that we will sign Rogers or Brooks and that will be roughly 6-9 mil for the season so that leaves us at roughly, after both of those contracts, around 10 mil.

We have a possible chance of signing all of FAs this year, but the question remains..... are we going to sign Brooks when we have Aldon and Parys under contract. We need some OLB depth. Overall, I am liking this potential offseason. We are going to be bringing back most of our own free agents and still have some money left over.

3rd- NYJ- NT Kenrick Ellis – 4yr/$3.99M ($450K Bonus)
4th- HOU- CB Rashard Carmichael – 4yr/$3,937,088M ($397,088K Bonus)
5th- NYJ- OG Justin Vandervelde – 4yr/$3,704,800M ($164,800K Bonus)
6th- CHI- LB James Thomas – 4yr/$3,632,520M ($92,520K Bonus)
7th- GB- DT Lawrence Guy – 4yr/$3,585,900M ($45,900K Bonus)

Based off those figures, it took $5,504,308M in bonuses, but only $4,001,077M to sign in year 1. And for cap purposes, only the first 3 picks really matter, as the others wont hit the top 51 salaries, just there bonuses are important. So for 2011 that would have been $2,501,077M against the 2011 off-season salary cap. Now based on increase of base salaries for 2012 to $390K each player it adds $105K to that, so $2,606,077M.

So basically it seems the $5M is high due to the offseason top 51 rule. We could see an extra $2.4M to spend.

would the numbers for the 30th pick go down with the new collective bargaining agreement? they have been saying one thing that would make rgIII so attracrive is that he is going to get about 23 million over 4 years
