Would love to see him out at FS a good chunk of the pre season. I'm glad we are re-signing guys like him and Boone to 3/4 year deals and not 1 year deals because this way they are bargains. Boone could be a starting tackle and be only getting a couple million a year. In 3-4 years there deals should be huge bargains. If you go 1 year you risk them breaking out even more and raising their prices. Glad to have him and Boone locked up.

Now, hopefully Costanzo is next. Also, Brock and Tukuafa should be cheap deals that are easy to get done.

P.S. I see him more as a FS but he will probably take Reggie's role as the next safety in. Like I said I want to see him get a ton of work in the pre season.

Costanzo should be easy, I expect a similar deal to Spillman's for Him.

Brock according to Matt Barrows is represented by Spillman's agent, and his agent said Brock will sign his $540K exclusive rights free-agent tender in march.

I'm sure we have tendered Tukuafu also, he should be $465K for 1 yr.

Barrows also said we haven't yet talked with Grant about an extension.

Bobby and Whitney on Ice.

thats racist....and funnier than hell...not that racism is funny
A little update, cap wise, added into my excel sheet numbers(prelminary) for Spillman, Brock, Tukuafu and Grant, also have new figures on Crabtree, he has an extra $1.359M in bonus money pro-rated from 2010, from an salary advance.

So, after that is done, and with a projected $123.375M cap, $135.975M with the $12.6M carryover we have about $30.258M under that cap figure. Now this will go down a little, when I know the full details of Spillman's deal, I gave him just his $615K base salary.

$2 million a year is too expensive for him. We need that money for the real FA's.....

It's about half of what a veteran starting safety makes and he's a special teams ace. Seems like a reasonable deal.
NICE!

I was actualy worried he wouldnt sign, after he declined the offer that came mid season. Glad to have him back!

Thanks, AB... yeah, might be best giving Brock and Tukuafu 1 years instead of 3-4. Like I said I like giving Boone and Spillman long term deals but they have shown they are worth it. Brock and Tukuafu could be good players considering they cost us nothing but it might be too early for long term deals. Those 1 year deals would be cheap but sucks if they play well we would have to worry about them next year.

By the way AB... so if we already tendered Brock as exclusive rights does that mean we have to sign him to a 1 year deal or can you go 2, 3 or 4 years? I looked it up and the exclusive rights tender means they have to be in the league 0-2 years and can't negotiate with any other teams. They have to sign the tender or sit out the season. Do you only get 1 exclusive rights tender? It cost more than a regular tender... what did we put on Tukuafu?

Reggie or CJ? If you are talking Reggie he is probably out the door. I know CJ played some FS this year in pre season and then had that one awesome tackle in the backfield on the goal line vs the Ravens. Has anyone seen him play SS in the preseason?

Welcome back Spillman! Now let's just get Costanzo signed and hit that music! "Tony Montana"
Signed or Likely to Sign:
S CJ Spillman - Signed
CB Tramaine Brock - Exclusive Rights Tender - Can't negotiate with another team, has to at least sign 1 year 540K (according to AB) or sit out the season
DE Will Tukuafu - Should be Tendered for 465K for 1 year (according to AB)
B Blake Costanzo - Might be next.. probably close to Spillman's deal.

Up in the Air:
LB Tavares Gooden - Could go either way... maybe just a small 1 year deal
LB Larry Grant - I expect us to make an offer, he will probably test the waters and get more elsewhere.

The Big Names:
QB Alex Smith - Just a matter of time and how much.
WR Joshua Morgan - Same as Alex..should be cheap coming off the injury
FS Dashon Goldson - They have until 3/5 to come to an agreement otherwise he has to be tagged. They then have until 7/16 to work out a long term deal. If not he gets the 1 year franchise tag price.
CB Carlos Rogers
OLB Ahmad Brooks
WR Ted Ginn
G Adam Snyder

Likely Gone:
Moran Norris
Chilo Rachal
Madieu Williams
Justin Peele - Did a nice job but we have Byham already under contract. Saves money...
Brett Swain
Shawntae Spencer (Cut/Trade)
