I hope Rachal is gone, and I hope we sign/draft someone to beat out Synder if we can bring him back. He's a great back-up, unless someone else offers him a starting postition somewhere else, but I highly doubt it

Believe it or not Snyder only gave up 3 sacks all season. He was pretty good. I wouldn't mind an upgrade either but you can't have pro bowlers at every position.

Both Synder and Goodwin played surprisingly well this year. I hope to God they let Rachal walk. You could always tell when Rachal was in the game, whether you knew it or not. I would like to see both Snyder and Goodwin and the rest of the offensive line return next year all as starters to "gel", as they say.
However, I'd like to see any round draft pick on a new center, preferably later. I feel Baalke can find a diamond in the rough and that Harbaugh can groom him. I say center over guard because center is such an important piece to an offensive line. He has to call blitz pickups and blocking schemes at the LOS. A very important and underrated position, in my opinion. I would love to see another Heitmann type player here. Late round, not great but definitely above average. Not to mention if you have a weaker center, you always have the option to give him help all game by doubling up on his man to with one of the two guards.
To add more, Snyder is also a little younger and more versatile than Goodwin. Snyder can play almost anywhere on the line. If someone else gets injured on the line, he can always slide over to wherever we need him and play the next best man available instead of the next person on the depth chart.
All in all, like I already said, I hope we can retain all 5 guys. It's important to keep consistency in this area of the game. This guys need to all be on the same page and have each others' backs (and Alex's too).

RG - Resign Snyder. Chilo is so horrific no matter what else you have on the team he will tank the season if he starts....

C - needs to be addressed long term. But you can work on that in the next 1 - 2 years. No immediate need. Although it's definitely a need.

bring in another interior lineman and tackle. they can compete with the other guys we have for depth. Boone has been backing up both Staley and Davis. Synder is valuable because he has experience everywhere, but we need to keep him in one spot and let him improve. its not by chance that the line started playing much better once he wasnt moved around. Chilo is complete garbage, he's gone.

Is there any chance Beeler will inherit the center position after Goodwin?

But Snyder gave up the second most pressures to Davis without starting every game. He is an average rg you may just not see that bc after rachal left our oline got better. But it still was not good at all on the right side, just better than before.
We need a good rg and who knows about Kilgore over snyder, but we don't need to give up all those pressures on that right side

Yes beeler was a very good c at Stanford, their ol only gave up a few sacks all year. I think he could be the answer in 3 years

Re-sign Snyder, Kilgore continues to develop, draft a guy in Rounds 5-7 for further depth.

I think the niners pick an OL on day 2. They use the big and heavy packages so often they need another mauler. I can see them picking an OL in the second round if the right guy is there.

I would love to see the stats on who gave up how many QB pressures. I am still looking for the sacks given up stat.
I have found Staley 6, Goodwin 6, Snyder 3, Rachal 1, Davis 9.5, Iupati 3.5 Still wondering where the other 15 of the 44 would go. (how they split between the rb/fb)

Rachal is gone, there isn't a question about that. I can pretty much guarantee it. The guy has been a turnstile for years. He's a monster run blocker but he's a liability in pass blocking.
Resigning Snyder is extremely important this year. He was extremely solid at RG this year and the guy is able to play all 5 positions on the line I believe, and play them well. He's played tackle/both guard spots and was practicing at center this past offseason during Camp Alex because Baas was expected to leave and there were no other centers under contract.
The line will be much better next season than this season. Another year of chemistry building and an entire offseason to prepare will only help. I predict a potential FA signing. Here is a list of the FA guards this coming offseason. http://www.theredzone.org/showposition.aspx?position=OG
