Where should the 49ers spend their money?

I'd be fine with them signing Mario Williams or Vincent Jackson. Obviously they won't do both. And keep as many of their own players as they can. I think it's likely however that they sign their own guys only and don't get a high profile FA.

I think it's going to be a combo. First, I believe their going to take care of their own. Smith, Goldson and hopefully Rogers( I'd personally rather have Rogers than Goldson, but I get the idea that Goldson is younger and therefore more valuable).

Second, I'd like to see them go out and get a WR. I know a lot of people are interested in DeSean and Vincent Jackson, or Dwayne Bowe, but I'd really like a guy like Colston. Good hands, and clutch on third downs.

Get our key guys under contract with deals that give us lots and lots of wiggle room to get 1-2 top tier FA.

Which FA is the question. IMO our secondary played very good in large part because of thhe front 7. It is a passing leauge and it's a chicken-egg thinng; do we bolster and already excellent DLine or get a very goood CB/S. Personally, I like CB Carr from the Chiefs.

Then WR is the next "need" position. Here the real debate starts because this is where the BIG $ come into play.

Whatever happens, I havve real confidence in Baalke/JH.

you would think after the formula that was used last year turned out well, you would continue to stay on that same page.i guess there is still the temptation to grab for that shiny thing with all of the ribbons and bows. No big names please, we will not stray away from what we did last year, no need to.whether it be the draft or under the radar guys, i have full faith in the front office and coaches to find the right guys,, they may not be the popular guys but they will be the right guys

if any. I think we could build entirely through the draft this year if we chose to do so. Just depends on how things go in FA with our own guys.
CB:we wouldnt need to sign a replacement for Rogers with the FO saying that Cully would start
OLB: Brooks could be replaced by Aldon and we draft more OLB depth to play behind him and Haralson
FS/SS: depth is already on our practice squad with Legree and Nelms, could look to a veteran but I think we could roll with them.
MLB: I dont see us losing Grant but if we do we could draft a late round MLB to replace him.
DL: totally set on all fronts. well have to trim this position IMO with camp competitions between Dobbs, Williams and Tukuafu.

QB: Camp competition between Tolzien and a UDFA
RB: Camp competition between Dixon and a UDFA or very late pick.
FB: set.
WR: I'd rather see us draft 2 new WRs and have a camp competition between KW, Bogan, Matthews, Hastings, and UDFAs for the 5th spot
TE: set with Camp competition between Byham and Reuland
LT: Set
LG: Set
C: Beeler could end up making the roster but its set.
RG: Snyder should be back as starter. draft a developmental RG.
RT: set

draft at WR, CB, OLB, RG, then go for nothing but depth on the other 2 or 3 picks.
