I don't think it necessarily did. It did push us back....but there's no guarantee that the same plays and same play outcomes would have occurred had the penalty not happened.

I forgot the jumping on the back of the DT who actually ripped the helmet, face mask first, off our OL. It was a schidt call, should have been 15 the other way, but if vernon had not jumped on, we would have gained 15 instead of losing something like 30.

Add that on to jumping on the TV truck stand in End Zone after his catch for TD and I think with that 15 yd penalty on K.O., Vernon almost came out of the nite with a net zero net yds....ok, he would have gained some, but that end zone idiocy gives NYG a shorter field , starting from the 30 instead of the 15. Hey, he did it without thinking, but that is exactly what he needs to be worked with by the coaching staff....using his noggin so he doesn't screw over the team every time he makes a TD or good catch.

I almost threw my shoe at the TV screen after seeing VD jump up on the TV platform which drew a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty flag. He is a great player but it was early in a NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game, he needs to know when it is appropriate to celebrate and when to tone it down.

Not nearly as annoyed as when Williams choked 3 times
