Can anybody provide a list of teams we played this year that rarely blitz and drop 7 into coverage most plays?

All we need is Alex Smith to bring his A game and Audible correct run pass ratio based off the reads given by the motion player. I predict a blow out if Frank gore hits 100 yards rushing.
i hate michael irvin and he said the same thing on gameday final......i dont hate you though so ill give you the benefit of the doubt. i think with alex performing the way he did, it will force teams(the giants) to second guess loading the box and sending the house to pressere smith into mistakes and stop the run. this will bode well for frank and kendall in the run game. thats the best thing about this team, they are so balanced. we know we have a dominate running game and now know alex can win the game with his arm and feet. they have to chose, play agressive and get beat with the pass? or play soft and get beat with the run. no team can effectively run on us, so they have to pass. this is a great team and IMHO we are on our way to our 6th superbowl......GO NINERS

a running attack that produces 6yds/carry down the middle would definitely open up the edges. but this is a giants defense that's red hot and good at stopping the run. out of our base offense I'm not at all confident that we can run against that defense.
ZOMG!
can't wait.

Giants sold out to stop the run last time we saw them, and Alex made them pay. If they decide this time to not try that again we will run it down their throats. They had some trouble against the run this year, we are a much ore physical team than the packers.

I dont buy that alex cant throw well in a zone coverage. Blitz or Zone we can be successful, and I beieve we will be. Our time is now to shine, and it will only get better.

I think the bigger question might be can our WR settle down and find the soft spots in a zone? I think that is as much an issue as Smith throwing against it. The WR and QB have to be on the same page and the reciever has to have a feel for soft spots. I don't think I've see a good job of them doing that much... the K WIlliams missed TD when he kept running his route and Smith threw behind him to an open area in the zone.
The other thing is the WR ability to take the top of the zone... if we can force the safeties back for fear of the deep ball that will be help open up the mid range passes.

As long as our oline gives him time Alex can be successful and our running game should click.

first team offense typically goes against the scout team defense.

Harbaugh has the first team O going against first team D in red zone drills. Hope he opens it up to all practice long so everyone is on their A-game
