They both screwed up....Willis in coverage, and Whitner for playing the ball instead of the man.
That being said, it certainly got the Saints offense off the field and left enough time on the clock for Alex to march the offense down for the winning TD.
Here's the rub though....the Saints offense (like many offenses) has issues in the red zone. They are much better at scoring off big plays between the 20s....but get them into the compressed field in the red zone and their execution/effieciency drops. So they certainly could have dinked and dunked their way into the red zone and eaten clock.....but that would not have been a guaratee of a TD for them. They scored exactly one red zone TD yesterday (out of 4).
