Regardless, there is still someting amiss with the offense, especially in the red zone.....

No doubt we were missing our "brain glue" today.

To my fellow Zoners, as many of you have shown to be upset and worried by our 34-27 win to those "Same Ol' Rams", let me give you my analysis of this game which hopefully will put some of your minds @ ease:
- We scored 34 points. Not only that, our points came through the air with Crabs, hardnosed play by Alex with the rush TD on 3rd and goal, and strong ground-and-pound with Dixon. Granted it was against the Rams, but the "highpowered" Saints racked up only 21pts in StL.
- We rested players. Limited Gore, no Williams, and no Ginn. Those 3 alone have produced almost all of our offensive/special teams yards. No fly sweep, no WR screens, no punt returns equals different game.
- Hangover of no Delanie Walker. Yes, he's not a stat machine, but he's a "do-it-all" football player, whose energy and talent will be drastically missed...the team needs to adjust to using VD and Poole, not to mention using Miller more as a pass threat.
- Rams had nothing to lose. How many times have we played "spoiler" since 2003? When there's nothing to gain outside of divisional pride, sometimes that's all a team needs. Also, when the hell will Kellen Clemens EVER get to play again? This was their superbowl, and kept it interesting.
- Willis shaking off the rust. As much as this pains me to say, I feel Willis is to blame on the lack of complete defensive dominance. He seemed to be out of place, speed wasn't there, and left a lot of space up the middle, especially with SJax. I don't see this as a "longterm" dilemma or calling for Grant, Willis needed to get his feet wet, and he got better as the game went along, which will help during the bye week.
Overall, we shouldn't be worried. Our team will get a divisional home game, which over 80% will be their first postseason, which will bring out their full energy level (not to mention how crazy the Stick is gonna be rocking...NO SAINTS FANS WILL BE ALLOWED WITHIN A 20 MILE RADIUS).
Also, The Saints/Lions game next week will be EPIC, with both teams playing hardcore the last few weeks, which will leave one of them for prime picking for our "Lights Out" defense
I guess I am confused, why would a Saints fan be close to candlestick. Detroi8t plays New Orleans, winner goes go to Green Bay. Niners play winner of Atlanta/Giants or Cowboys.

Nope. Green Bay plays the lowest remaining seed. Since the Saints are 3, and if they win, they are coming to SF.

I agree we made that interesting but we played great. I think we got in our own way just a little. I think we were really trying to get Aldon his sack and it let them double team him alot. Also the DBs were playing for picks a couple of times and got burned. Finally I think they should have not called PI on Brown late in the game. If anything offensive on Lloyd. I also like how the D stepped up and got a huge sack and basically put the game to rest. We were flat in the second half. We tried to cruise late in that game. They got back in it on some nice plays and fortunate calls. We snuffed it out.

He played well enough for a backup role somewhere.

my bad, the only way the 9ers will not play new orleans is if detroit beats them. It has been soo long since a play offs I forot the seeding process.
