Braylon wasn't really contributing and was earning a fair amount of salary. Whether he was loafing in practice or really trying hard to rehab is another story. Who else won't be back next year? I have to believe Norris is gone. Miller turned out to be a great value pick and it would be hard to argue that there was another really late round pick that contributed more to his team. Spencer is making a lot of dime for a person that is way down on the charts and guys like Brown and Culliver (another nice pick) have zoomed past him. Rachal is the last really obvious guy in the trouble. When Kilgore gets a full camp in him next year, he's going to move up.

Edwards needed to get 90 receptions to get the bulk of his contract. You're wrong. We basically got him for free in salary terms.

Wont be back:
Norris - Miller has obviously surpassed expectations 2 FBs on the roster is unnecessary as Dixon could fill in for Miller if he got hurt.
Rachal - A major disappointment for everyone. We will be replacing him in FA or the draft.
Tukuafu - As a restricted free agent we won't be extending anything larger then a minimum salary offer to him. He is a career back-up and too bad he got hurt when he had a chance to show the coaching staff he should be back next year.
Spencer - No 4th or 5th string player could ever justifiably be paid a $4 million dollar salary. If he doesn't re-up for veteran minimum he's gone.
M. Williams - He could be back if we chose not to Franchise Goldson or can't get a deal worked out for him but we'll likely draft a safety this year and he's the most expendable on the roster right now. Reggie stays over Williams IMO.

sorry for the double post but I just read your post. Since he paid those kids scholarships this year the checks might as well be made out to them straight from the 9ers front office. After taxes Braylon will have earned roughly 700K give or take a few 10K - The scholarships totalled out at 790K not including laptops and other supplies he bought for them. He basically played for free lol.
