2nd half play calling against the seahawks

I honestly don't understand the shotgun draw plays in the RZ. However im not going to blame it on a lack of trust in the QB.

Maybe the real strategy all year long was to get David Akers the record? Now that he has it, we'll see the real 49ers offense that everyone thinks we've been keeping a secret!

So....

Since we were losing and since we were already in FG range to win the game, and then we pass it and it gets tipped and intercepted, what will you say then?

"Hey, at least they did what I wanted them to do, which was to pass the ball!" Really?

We didn't settle. We won the game.



Harbaugh made the plays to win the game, which he did.

you take it game by game. if harbaugh thought we needed to put up 30 points maybe he is more aggressive. our defense allowed 70 yards in the 2nd half. i don't love the conservative playcalling but harbaugh seems to have a feel for what our team needs to do and our calls go accordingly

What's the difference between winning by 2 and winning by 6?

You clearly misunderstand me. What i'm saying is that when you are moving the ball up and down the field in the 2nd half and you are in the redzone with 3 min left in the game, you give your quarterback who has proved in the 2nd half, including a critical 4th down conversion, to make a play.

At least we saw some shotgun so we don't have to watch Alex get sacked 5+ times. We were gutsy on 4th downs but not in the redzone. I think it pretty much says we trust our defense and think they are so good we can win with field goals and the occasional TD. I guess it's the right thing to do with this D and ST but it's frustrating.

Come playoff time FGs will not get the job done

I think it wasn't about alex, I think it has more to do with the wr's. Braylon, Josh Morgan, Kyle Williams, Ted Ginn all at some point have been injured durning the season. The only guy who has showed up is crabtree, lol it more of the case of an issue at wr!

I agree. I am not happy with how conservative we are being at times either. Might work against bad to average teams but once you go against the Saints and Packers of the league will will have to have some TDs. Especially if we go on the road.... I do think we can slow those teams up a bit but yeah field goals won't cut it.

I definitely was looking for a TD and a two point conversion to make it a 7 point game towards the end. I love our D but I honestly thought a 2 point lead wasn't going to be enough. Probably wouldn't have been until Grant's strip.

I thought we went deep more this game than recent games. If VD and Crabtree caught the deep balls in the first half, it would have been a different game. The deep ball still need work, but it seems to be getting better. Alex was more accurate this game than the previous 2 games.

Agreed... think shotgun helped him and the OL out a lot. Yeah, Crabtree dropped one... VD dropped a few... again those drops changed the game.

i dont think it is a lack of trust in alex smith but rather total trust in the defense
