then we would be in position to grab that bye." That was my post before the NYG game which we won, but then we get crushed by Ravens, and we clobber Pitts. My feelings a month ago were based on playing out the season vs SEA, Rams, and AZ.. Well, AZ wasn't the pushover they had been earlier, SEA has suddenly grown a very stout D, with their middle of the DL guy becoming a human wrecking ball....at least in highlite films. So we win 2 of 3 from some pretty decent teams, but now have to face SEA, a team vastly improved from last time we saw them. They put together a winning streak, and have started to look good. That is the fascinating thing about this league...play a game early on against a division team, and next time you see them they play out of their skulls(AZ for example). I had looked at SEA as a gimme game, but in SEA this will be anything but. Once again, I hope Coach H calls our plays, on both O and D, as we need aggressive playcalling to win. That's what beat the Steelers and Ben Rotten, and that's what will beat SEA. But if we go out there and start off throwing mid to deep pass plays instead of quick slants and outs, we will get our heads handed to us and alex beaten to a pulp. It also means that Coach H has once again allowed Roman to call the O. Same goes for D. If we play milk toast D, no blitzes, then we are in for a long day, and will lose. Playcalling has to be by the best guy on the team and that is JH. Anybody else calls O or D, and i believe we lose.

How do we know Harbaugh called the plays Monday? As far as I know Roman calls the plays down to Harbaugh and he relays them to Smith . . . and per Fangio the only time he hears from Harbaugh during the game is to discuss whether to take a penalty. Why would we want Harbaugh meddling with the defensive play calling?

No I don't.

I've heard Harbaugh and Roman describe the Roman to Harbaugh to Smith radio logistics several times. Of course Harbaugh retains veto power, but Roman calls the plays.

I've heard some of the above, but watching Harbaugh in Pitts game, he was talking into phone continuously before each play. I have NOT seen him do that before. Plus the game plan was exactly the opposite of the Balt and AZ offensive game plans, where long time to develop plays, dang near got alex killed. I am really suspicious that Harbaugh called the O plays against the Steelers...at least I hope he did.

no greg roman calls the play to harbaugh and he relays it to smith...don't get what's so hard to understand

Seattle at Seattle is no gimmie. Suddenly they are red hot and playing great football out of nowhere. And they are always tough at home in that stadium. That game worries me. But we have a chance for the bye.
