I expect to stop Pittsburgh's ground game.
I expect pressure up the middle on Big Ben to force him to use his gimpy ankle.
I expect some improvement on 3rd downs and in the red zone. It won't be easy against with or without Harrison, but we need to man-up against a legit D.

This has got to be the game we finally put it together! We've looked dismal for 3 or 4 games already barely beating a few teams along the way, but mostly looking like sh*t against the rest. Both teams are coming into this game limping, but i hope luck taps us on the shoulders and favors us for this game. Morale is starting to slip alittle, so a big deciding win would definately bring that magic back.

Steelers have fast receivers that seem to burn the opposition each week. The 49ers must jump on the Steelers early. I think the Steelers come out throwing after they review the Cardinal game. It's a game to gauge where the team is at right now.

same game plan.,run gaining 4 yards, passing for another 4 ,run the middle crossing our fingers to get the first down, then a field goal and waiting for D to score

If we want to beat Pittsburgh's press coverage, we're going to have to incorporate a LOT of the following:
1) Misdirection screens. Don't make it easy.
2) Short crossing routes and SLUGO (slant-and-go) routes to eliminate Polamulu's quick breaks on passes.
3) Read option plays. Again, don't make a single thing easy to defend.
4) Out routes.
5) Get Vernon and Delanie heavily involved.
6) Establish the run to open up play action. The Colts almost beat Pittsburgh because they were able to run on them.
