Agreed. And its funny hearing people say we're trying to get use to throwing the ball, which is true, but that's also because our run game has looked like it did at the start of the year. Not good.

Seems they're not trying to run. Not sure about playcalling, if Defenses are stacking etc so they audible out or something. But Gore with 10 carries?

Alex is Alex, in this game he was off, tossing the ball over and tossing the ball under, the Ravens game showed our weakness, thats why good or very good defenses will blitz the hell out of us if they have the defense and good DB's. The rams game gave the 49ers a false sense of security and they did not have the players or the DB's to blitz us like the Ravens and the Tards did. Pitt will kill us if we can't run the ball on Monday Night.

Seahawks, Bangles, Giants, one game vs Cardinals, and Rams makes it seem otherwise.

I do wonder if Harbaugh is trying to "test" our QB to see if he really is worthy of an extention. Just a thought, dont kill me.

Maybe, but not a test for an extenstion, I think Harbaugh and Baalke already made their decision on that.

Alex Smith is the key to the 49ers winning and he's very good when he has a running game, when he has no running game he is in trouble, and when he is off and has no running game he is horrible, unlike other qb like eli, and a few others, Alex will always have a tough time with a good defense and no running game, thats why the 49ers and him have a hard time scoring in the red zone. When you put Alex in the red zone and the field gets small he's in trouble with no running game, thats why he either looks good or he looks bad in the red zone. The 49ers are going to have to stop trading TD's for Field Goals!!

Every team is better with a run game and offensive line blocking well. Troy Aikman was better with that huge O Line and Emmitt Smith. Take that away and no 3 Super Bowls for him and much less dominant. I don't see why this is news flash? If you want to win you have to run the ball and block along the O Line. For every team. Yes this team too.

Anyone remember when Tim Rattay and T.O lit up the Steelers on Monday night at home and Kevan Barlow ran all over them?? Had 157 yards I think lol

Alex has shown he can play and win without the run. This was just one of those stink-up games, every team has one or a few every season, this was ours. Now that its out of the way, lets go and win everything else!!
