He happened to play for a better team, a team that had its best season (13-3 in 2008) with Kerry Collins as its starting QB. VY was drafted in 2006. Make the correlation.

impossible to know if VY is actually learning anything, since we're not there, but completing 57% of your passes with 3 TD's and 5 INT's is not really what I would call playing well. if you like QB's who can play "not bad" then go ahead and keep rooting for Young, I guess. I think most reasonable people would rather root for QB's who are actually playing well. Its awesome that we have one.
Really? 1-1 so far starting in the very first year learning the offense. Who knows what wouldve happened if Jackson didnt drop those perfectly thrown TD passes. But people never get it. Anyways to the Alex Smith thread with the debate like the mod said.
Alex Smith is 9-2 in his first year learning the offense.
s**t just got real
not really. there's no way this is real life.
...right?

Stats are very deceptive. He has not put alot of attempts compared to the other QB's. The completions are based off a very very great running game that is starting to get adjusted to a tad bit.
And Vince young's stats don't come off having a great running game? The Eagles are 2nd in the NFL in rushing

The biggest difference with JH for Smith (and the team) - coaching 100% of the time. No time to dwell on the past mistakes, no time to hold grudges, no time to worry about personalities and manhood, etc. Coach, Coach (teach), Coach. Get better everyday and quit worrying about people's feeling and perceptions. Love it.
Also, Smith mentioned when they reviewed film, they "put it all out there." What went right and what went wrong. Everyone is held accountable to everyone else. No hiding players lack of performance or execution based on "favorites" or worrying about someone's feelings. I heard that about the old 49ers under Walsh and Siefert, that the players felt a tremendous amount of pressure to be accountable to each those teams "put it all out there" after each game as well.
On the right track.
