As if rachal didn't have a horrible enough game, his chop block killed any chance of us tying that game. I know people like to blame the refs on this call but really it was just a horrible decision by rachal to try to block a guy who was already being blocked below the knees.
Davis had a horrible game too, I didn't watch the left side quite as much, but the right definitely fell apart play after play. I remember seeing davis on one of the sacks suggs just did a little one-two boxing punch like I've seen aldon sometimes do to evade the hands, then it's all over after that. Davis is too slow to stop any speed rushers once they get his hands.
Gore started out being good against the blitz then it seemed like he couldn't always figure out who to cover. On one of the blitzes he goes after a guy that someone on the right side was about to pick up while the guy he was supposed to get runs straight up the middle uncovered.

Don't know if it will work each week, but you know it will be copied. And, Harbaugh is a smart guy. He knows the Rams will try the same thing next week, and he will make adjustments....hopefully.

9 sacks, 2 dumb penalties, and a return man trying to play wide receiver, hurts our chances of winning.....

If Snyder can't go vs. STL, does Kilgore start?

yeah, here is the formula for beating the niners:
1. have the baltimore ravens defense
2. make sure sorry ass chilo rachal plays and compromises our whole line
3. ??
4. profit

It's just a spotlighted issue once again that should force us to revisit the blitz pick-ups. We need to stay away from zone blocking... our OL don't respond well to it. Too much confusion from the OL on who to block.

Anyone remember the OL play in the preseason...or last year? Remember how people said it would get better with time? As we all have seen so far in the first 10 games this year, the OL play was great. It's almost a given that this team will once again learn from its mistakes and get better.
This isn't a Nolan/Singeltary team.
Jim Harbaugh/Roman/Fangio all got out coached last night. It's part of the game and it will happen from time to time. Lets not forget that this a ROOKIE HC staff, regardless of how much experience they have. I think this game was a good reminder that this team, although VASTLY improved from the past, still has a long way to go to be considered elite....IMO.
Nice analysis and I agree we are much better hands this year.
I for one can't wait to see our next game and the progress leading into the playoffs.
