I appreciate the breakdown. I havent rewatched the game yet (actually not sure if I plan on it for once), but this seems to be a pretty good analysis.

This is going to be a flat out guess, but based on what you just wrote after rewatching, I bet there were quite a few more plays that Alex should have made (or done something differently) than you originally thought. Only reason I say this is because quite a few times you wrote "Alex should have _____" or "bad play/pass by Alex."

Am I wrong? (this is nothing more than curiosity)
I really threw those in there so everyone see's I am not just being a homer. Alex played solidly and i wrote what he should of done in a perfect world not knowing what his progression where etc. Alex played a solid game but there was definetly room for him to improve.

Wow really? SMH.

I wish I hadnt asked now. So basically you only said some of what you said because you wanted to make your entire post look less biased? Im done.

No i am saying I am not gonna leave out the bad things so people know I am actually not being biased?

Ok, so since you admit to some of the bad plays you saw tonight being Alex's fault.......were there more of plays things than you originally thought there were after watching the game again? Thats what I am curious about.

Um...I would say he was more off target then I originally thought. I thought his passes were more accurate then I saw watching it a 2nd time. His decision making was about the same as I thought it was. Goin into the review I probably would of told you I was giving Alex B grade, coming out of it I gave him C+/C.
tempted.... to... post... didn't.... read... lol.... but.....

great post dude

Appreciate the honesty. Thanks again for the writeup.

Trying to get milk from a turnip?

The analysis is very good but you can't or won't believe cause it doesn't fit the narrative.

Under this pressure tonight a qb could easily have had 3 picks in addition to all of the sacks.

And Alex could have had 2 td's tonight also but those aren't taken into account by some.

So Alex throw one up to our tall wr and expects him to make a play and what happens? pick due to lack of effort but then we want him to wing it into tight windows throught the game under pressure and assume a differnt outcome?

What narrative? An when did I say his analysis wasnt good? I only explicitly stated his write up was very good ONCE, so I'm sorry if you couldnt comprehend what I have been typing.
Great post NVC, this is what I needed to read!

I'll have to wait until I can see the replay of the game myself, but this is some great analysis and has shut me up for the time being. Even before reading this it was clear that the loss was more on the OL than Alex, but it's great to see this in depth of a breakdown so soon after the game, thanks a lot!

I guess Alex did what he could tonight, and it's sad to think that the difference between 9-2 and 10-1 could be a couple of decent blocks by our pitiful OL.

Great read, seriously man good job!
The line played terrible today, but with a half to fix the issue they did even worse. What i don't understand is, is why didn't the coaches keep their TE's into block? I would have preferred to see Davis and Walker stay in to block rather than using them as receivers. Why wasn't there more screens and bubble screens? we saw some bubble screens in the first half and they worked. Why didn't we see shorter routes? With all the blitzing and pressure you would think that we would have called upon shorter pass plays to limit how long Alex had to stay in the pocket or lack there of. In a game like this gore should of had 7+ catches and a lot more shorter routes, like comeback plays, hooks, slants etc. etc just to simply reduce the time Alex had to hold onto the ball. It just seemed to me the coaches could have done a better job at exploiting an otherwise aggressive or too aggressive Ravens D and try to cover up our horrid OL play.

Even Joe Montana would have done little against the constant pressure seen tonight. When Adam Snyder got hurt, I was man we are in trouble. Joe Staley has been inconsistent, I expect more from the veteran. Braylon Edwards has not played well enough to keep starting.

Alex Smith was doin his best, he is not the blame for this loss it is the poor play by the Offensive line.
