He never left. It was just a bunch of posters overreacting as usual.

Because fresh legs for Gore = 100+ yards and a touch. Gore as workhorse = 30 yards and a cloud of dust.
Our coaches know this and Hunter will keep getting his 15 or so reps a game....everybody wins.

I loved that peek-a-boo run where he patiently waited to make his move. Classic!

Great thread.
You can never doubt the heart that Frank has.
This guy will produce for as long as he wears the uniform. I love how they are spelling him often to keep him fresh. With a fresh Gore we are seeing the big gains out of the running game. You give him 25-30 touches a game and he gets beat up quick (ask Singletary and Raye).
Frank Gore actually is averaging just .7 fewer touches per game under Harbaugh/Roman (121 in 6 games for an average of 20.2) than he did under Sing/Raye (355 in 17 games for an average of 20.9)...

Yeah because when he has nagging injuries as he's had for years his workload drops. We have seen this under Sing/Raye. When healthy Gore was deemed the BELLCOW who gets all the touches he can muster. Problem is that with all that workload he remains always beat up and nicked.
The announcers during the Detroit game said we have a great shot of keeping Gore fresh all year if we keep rotating in Hunter as we are doing now and I agree.

I dono man, look it up from 2009. His touches sure didn't slow down as the season progressed and the nagging injuries mounted. The touches seemed to be pretty evenly distributed throughout, if not more weighted (counterintuitively) toward the back end of the season.

All of you who doubted the abilities of the best running back in team history should have your nuts used for a speedbag.

Initially, in the first 2 games, it looked like Gore had lost a gear from his injury. But leading up the the third week I think I started to believe it was more due to his adjustment to the zone blocking scheme as well as the offensive lines ability to block with the zone scheme. He, I believe, has made that transition and so has the oline.
