None of the guys who took 1 year deals will resign before testing free agency unless you give them a nice deal off the top.
Way too early to be concerned about this. i'll worry bout these things in the off season when we dont' have any games to talk about.

I am going by the fact that he is suing a place for 15 million saying that an altercation there devalued his worth. he signed for 3 million so he was looking for 15+ million per year it seemed

It doesn't matter how much one gets paid in the past. It's the now and the future that count. When the range of the top 16 QB salaries hovers around $11 million/year, people will question a person's sanity to settle for a 2-year contract that pays chump change in comparison.
Of course Smith will need to continue to play well to be able to negotiate for that kind of money, but it's unrealistic to think that 49ers to sign a QB who is an upgrade over Smith right now and expect to pay anything south of $13 million/year. The moment that Kaepernick/Tolzien can play good football, their agents will kick and scream to get out-sized contract extension too (Rodgers got his $11 million/year average contract extension in his 6-10 first starting season.)
