The Eagles don't scare me. The Bucs and the Lions are far more interesting opponents.

It is true that we are looking at three very difficult games coming up. Don't underestimate the Eagles though. They could easily be 3-0, just as we could be.
I think the outcome of this game will mean something to our season record.
the whole division sucks so it won't matter.

This too. Like it or not the 49ers are out of the Andrew Luck race by virtue of being the best team in the worst division in pro sports. If Harbaugh keeps playing every damn game as microscopically carefully as he has been, he will make the playoffs as a rookie head coach.

I don't know about any of that. I still think the 49ers would be willing to trade up to get Luck. I see it happening.
Maybe I am off, but this game's significance doesn't seem quite as important after last week's win. Last week, it felt like a must-win... because we have @ Philly, TB, and @ Detroit up next. So I really felt we need to be 2-1... and now, feel we need to win 1 out of these next 3 to give us some breathing room. Going into the bye at 3-3 will make me smile. It's not pretty... low standards... blah, blah... I get that. But I am expecting us to be a much better offense after the bye... so if we can just hold on a lil longer.

... so if we lose @ Philly? I don;t consider it a crushing outcome.

... yet if we win? Wow... feeling REALLY good about SF getting the NFCW crown and a spot in the playoffs.
Well the outcome will be us going to 3-1 or 2-2
Considering the state of the Eagles.
Philly looks to be the best opportunity for a win in the next 3 games.

That is pretty much exactly how I feel. And I would love to see us at 3-3 by the bye... but think about 4-2 or 5-1...

One can only dream.

Also, Smith has unfinished business with them from Week 5 of last year, a game that was played on 10/10/10. I know that because I was there.

Definitely not keeping that 4-2 or 5-1 out of the realm of possible... but not banking on it either.

I would lose my damn mind if they could pull it off, but a playoff team would be looking at an ungodly price to pay for that slot. I mean astronomical. They'd be asking for Willis. I'm not 100% Jim would do that.
