Key to 49er success: Few Penalties

One thing I noticed about the 49ers in the preseason is that they aren't getting that many penalties. I can't count the number of times that penalties killed 49er drives last season. Especially for a rushing offense, penalties force you to throw the ball (and the defense knows that you have to throw the ball too). For this reason alone, we may have a more effective offense than in the past.

But, supposedly there are a bunch of formations and shifts and all that were not shown in preseason. Expect more penalties as the true offense is unveiled and players get confused now and then.

the key to fewer penalties is anthony davis, he had so many last year...especially at the beginning of the year. False starts and such.
