Could we actually be "building through the draft"

i think our rebuilding efforts were stunted by retarded coaches. who knows what those draft picks couldve been had they actually received decent coaching.

Not only were the coaching subpar, allowing Nolan and Singleminded to have final say on personnel was terrible. Look at Singleminded love for Anthony Davis, Troy Smith, and Mays. He forced Baalke's hand in drafting those two players. Singleminded didn't even recognized the greatness in Patrick Willis until he worked with him. What tape were you looking at Coach Singlecell?

With full control of this year's draft, I feel Baakle has made a number of good finds.

It is the front office's excuse for not making the playoffs. The poor leadership stems from misutilization of talent to awful draft choices. We have had a vicious cycle of rebuilding. For example, mark roman and Michael Lewis to potentially goldson and mays to now goldson and whitner...with perhaps Reggie smith replacing goldson next season.

And let us not forget the wr position in all the recent years...johnnie morton, Darrell Jackson, Bryan Gilmore, arnaz battle, Isaac Bruce, and others...

This is where I love Baalke's refreshing approach. We are signing and drafting guys that goes against the grain of our previous administration: Edwards, R. Johnson, Ginn, Whitner, goodwin, etc. A blend of speed, size, and playmaking ability mix that clearly have flaws. A much ballsier approach.

IMO, if a person wants to be taken seriously, they should make a serious effort to be grammatically correct. Yeah, drafting good players is critical. Hopefully in three years we have a nice core group of players from this last draft class, with more waiting in the wings.

yes and no, risks can be taken when you already have good players in place ie Patriots, Jets etc...........but I get your point and agree to a certain extent

San Diego, we have both been critical in the past, but the talent out there Sat was something to behold. Aldo put a couple spin moves on the OT and left him flat footed wit 2 nice tackles. OL played great except for a pair of misses, both of which Hunter picked up and nailed. After 3 drops of solid passes, our Wrs came to life, and alex who threw one away was actually 13/15. OL played great and best part was that i think we may have 3 or 4 honest to goodness starters on the bench. Rachal actually played better, thanks in great part to JH, poti creamed somebody on a pull, staley was solid, and even AD, altho he fanned twice, played well rest of time. The new guys were superb on OL, plus DL looked a lot better without aubray. LBs played well , but problem of corners remains. Good news is there is still so much movement due to contract issues, UDFAs getting cut before they get a good look, and best of all our HC was well versed in who was a real find in DB or CB in college, as he just came from there.

Baalke showed his stuff...jeez, hunter was taken in 4th !...plus he cut out dead wood, baas and heitmann, plus as noted aubray. We got a lot of talent on this team, and it is really young. Diego, I am stoked about this team, moreso than since seifert was last here. Have another look at the film man, and you will see some real SF players out there. With a great coach with a good mind, we are going somewhere this yr and it definitely is up. One caveat: i just hope we don't revert to the play like against N.O.

I understand, but when I get in the zone (no pun intended), I really just say what I have to say and not think about that kind of stuff. I guess I distinguish the difference of typing in a forum and writing a paper, which I have done many times and I did alot in college, but I see your point and to each their own bro.

But that is just it. I've seen this team look good for 1/2 or for a full game before. And then they revert back to N.O. game type of play. They are capable of it. And have been for the last few years. I don't trust this until I see some consistency.

seems how almost every player in the NFL is drafted at some point in the beginning of their career then the answer is yes we're building through the draft.
