Actually if you read even the first page there are many people here frustrated with the lack of talent on this team right now.

this could be a lot like Jimmy Johnson's first year in Dallas---a great coaching staff seeing what they really have and in rebuild mode. Face it--we had bad coaching for years---this team will be successful under Harbaugh--but his first year at SD State and Stanford were not winning seasons---he doesn't want a mediocre team every year--he wants to build a winner---he will. Maybe we still get some Luck in 2012.

If I hear Andrew Luck again, I am going to PUKE. This is such an excuse for a poor Free Agency. And poor management, It is sickening.

Its nothing like Jimmy Johnson. He traded away Herschel Walker for a butt load of picks the following year. He built his team quick this way.
What the niners were 7 days ago were a team that needed a few players to make a run in the NFC West. Now since they sat on there hands they are rebuilding again. IF they picked up Gallery and either Carr or Joseph they would have been able to put there young guys in place and many role playing FAs wouldnt mind coming to SF. Now there avoiding it like a prostitute with open sores.

It is going to take good drafts to rebuild this team----why get older vets if it only wins a couple more games but not a Super Bowl? bad drafts and bad coaching have held this team back for over a decade. We will know this year if the coaching has been fixed--the drafts we don't know yet. I think you have to give Harbaugh and Baalke the next two years to see--if the team is built up enough--then a couple big FA to challenge for a SB. Harbaugh thinks long term not short term--like Singletary did. The QB remains the key---and the defensive pressure on the QB.

SO they should keep bums on the roster instead of going for decent FAs because they still wont win the SUperbowl? Really?! The young guys on the roster will learn nothing from watching Chilo get his butt whooped up and down the field but could from a veteran guard wwho will only be around for a couple of years then will be let go so the young guy can step up. No ones saying take spots away from young guys that will make an impact one day but its time to just get rid of the mistakes previous management made.

Chilo is another bad drafting example--2nd round--ugh. Yes I agree with you on the O line if we can get a center, a guard that would be great. I just don't want to pay the super high salaries that cash strap this team. In the long run we all know to be good in the NFL you must draft well--and coach well--the Niner's have been bad at both.

I am looking ahead i guess when we resign key players--although at this point we don't seem to have many of those!
I'm just excited to finally hear good post game comments from our head coach.

Thats one thing to look forward to this year.

You could tape record a couple of lines from singletary, mix them around and play them multiple times and you have an interview.

"Have to look at the film. They played their tails off. We will win. I have to looks at the film. I want winners. I have to look at the film."
I dunno about this strategy of being patient with free agency. Im not one for spending every year on big name free agents but this is pretty stupid. The way the season is shaping up almost makes me wish the lockout never ended. This team seriously needs an upgrade at corner and Wr and whiel they had their hands in their pocket almost all of the better corners are gone and the top options at WR are Buress and Floyd? This season is not going to be pretty. Maybe I should wait til next year for DirecTV.

So your definition of a fan is someone who goes a long with incompetent ownership with a smile on their face? This is the franchise that won 10 games 17 years in a row, and 5 Super Bowls, not a perennial bottom feeder that fans get excited about when they win half their games. What was considered a bad season in the glory years would now be considered a major achievement, some of us find that unacceptable.

Just wondering why people feel the need to create their own thread, reiterating the same ideas in several other threads. Just to express why "I am not excited..."?

The operative word is "I"

Yeah, some fans don't think its ok to say how bad someone is on your team until they are gone. Then it is fine to blame everything wrong on them, and that now we are going to be perfect.
