Agreed. Takeo wasn't a big deal, but Baas was a good, flexible, young O-lineman. Sucks to see him go. Ah, well.

The 49ers have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent center Tony Wragge, according to a league source.
Alright, at least we have an experienced center if we can't get Kreutz. Good probably cheap signing

I agree. With the potential of losing several starters and backups moving into the lineup, depth is a concern.

What about Shaun O`Hara? Id like to land him, proven guy, just injury issues last year.

I like Wragge, he can play center and both guard positions, and he is relatively young. I just wish they signed him to a two or three year deal at league minimum with incentive bonus for playing time.
If he had a longer contract they would not have to worry about back uip centers or guard as much for a few more seasons.

It concerns me that we are down to our 3rd string Center.
I hope we do not overlook this spot.

Great Move! He is one of the most under-rated players from last year. Plays tough and rarely gets beat. We still need to add a vet C or OT or RG

Good sign.
Maybe it is about time we recognized we screwed up in the past, and bring back one of the guys we should have fought hard to keep: Harvey Dahl.
I love this story:
During the Falcons-49ers match-up on October 11, 2009, Dahl and San Francisco head coach Mike Singletary got into a spat on the field where Singletary told Dahl, "You better be happy you didn't play back in my day! If I could see you on the field!..." to which Dahl replied, "Suit up,then!". This only infuriated Singletary more, and Singletary actually spat on Dahl. TV cameras did not pick this up though, and the NFL is still investigating.

I know there is Wragge and the team planned on giving the 2 drafted rookie OL a look at guard as well as the signing of beeler from stanford. But what about getting Snyder more of a look at C

Wragge is just all around solid... not gonna wow you... not gonna make you cringe.
Good signing, and if he does start at center? I'm not gonna expect disaster.

I think they plan on developing Kilgore at center. If we don't sign a center, it'll be interesting to see how the competition shakes out, but I think Snyder has the edge. However, I think we are best suited having Snyder start at RG and Wragge play C since he's played with these guys before and continuity is important.
