Ok guys its getting boring here thanks to the lockout, so do you think that Jerry Rice lost his dominance after he had that Acl injury against the bucaneers? I became a niner fan thanks to my uncle liking them when I was 7 in that glorious 94 season. I didn't really start paying attention to every game till the 97 season the season Rice got injured... So I never really got to see him play before that.. My uncle and I literally talk about niner football both past and modern about 75% of every topic we talk about. I love the niners more than anything. I didn't see the game against the bucs where he got injured but from what I recall was that Warren sapp was the Guy who hit him... my uncle said sapp was just doing his job but he puts rice's injury on mariucci because he ran quite a few wide receiver reverses that half against the bucs. Now I love talking niners and learning from older fans maybe you can answer my question with your own story about the subject ...

We really had a hard time getting past green bay during Moochs career with us..I remember hearing something about him giving plays to green bay possibly being the reason he got fired..any truth to this?

If that were true, he wouldn't have gotten another coaching job at any level, much less the Lions (who play GB twice a year). Something like that comes out, you're done.

He got fired for 3 reasons

A) He didn't get the 49ers to the Super Bowl

B) He quit in the first half of the Buccaneers game (which truthfully, we shouldn't have even played in since it was the players who won the Giants game, not the coaching)

C) He wanted more control in player personnel and Terry Donahue was an moron and got Mooch fired (Donahue had Walsh's endorsement and he used that to his advantage, until he was pretty much ran out of town.)
