What I remember is that we went 3-6

Bubba was the top pick, the second round

We traded for Russ Francis

There was some let down after the SB year

We had no running game because we did not draft Craig until the next year and then later we traded for Tyler

I seem to recall Dean being a beast that year but that's about it
Thanks for the info. Sorry for the late response. I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in. Oh well... hopefully our current situation ends soon
I don't remember the issues, but I do remember that it was a strike as opposed to a lock-out. They played a couple games then struck for about two months before coming back.
I remember we drafted Bubba Paris, but he blew his knee out in camp. And like 17 outta 22 starters were injured and/or out for the year. Craig Puki, Amos Lawrence, Lynn Thomas, and Ricky Patton were drug addicts and were either cut or didnt contribute. Dwight Clark got hurt at a public appearance. When Walsh bought in guys like Jeff Moore, Russ Francis, Paris, and Renaldo Nehimiah- It killed team chemistry and there was a lot of resentment on the team. We went 0-2 before the strike, we won 2 games in a row, then got beat by Atlanta on MNF, and dat mathmatically killed us for playoffs..
I remember it as being a disappointing year. A great deal of Niners crossed the picket line as I recall.

But Montana didn't look like the Montana of 81. He looked like the Montana of 80, which left many of us greatly concerned.

To go from Super Bowl to 3-6 was certainly a downer. All in all? It was a lost season. 82 shouldn't even be counted.
