Carr didn't get a playbook. He got a play page. "in order to walk, one must learn to crawl first."

~ Stand block footed for 10 seconds.
~ Get hit.
~ Get sacked.
~ Fumble.
~ Throw late and lob the ball.
~ Get intercepted.

Everyone assumed that Carr would be cut, but Greg Roman had worked with Carr as a qb coach with the Texans which may put Carr as a 3rd qb on the team. I think the decision on Carr may be more on Greg Roman than Harbaugh. Jim already indicated his guys are Smith and Kap. He wouldn't careless if Carr stays or go.

Harbaugh's the head coach of course he cares who stays and goes.

Pretty obvious
It was an exaggeration to emphasized a point.

I've only heard that he was given an early prototype of Motorola's next generation headset. At this point it seems that 3M's long-rumored next gen clipboards and grease pencils are just that, rumors.
