I don't recall Bill Walsh ever saying that about Alex. And Montana wasn't exactly a great college player either, he completed 52% of his passes and threw 25 tds and 25 ints. Your post is lacking factual evidence.

There's a reason Joe lasted until the 3rd round, and would've lasted longer if Bill didn't like him so much. Winning a national championship in college is nice, but it doesn't mean much in terms of your quarterbacking ability as a pro....just ask Danny Wuerffel, Ken Dorsey, Josh Heupel, Chris Weinke, Steve Walsh, Chris Leak, etc.
